Went to Roosevelt’s with cousin’s family for dinner. Roosevelt’s is one of the pretty new cafe in Singapore. Its located near Outram park station at Dorsett Residences. The deco of the cafe has already caught our eyes even before we enter the cafe. I guess nowadays pretty cafe is one of the attraction points. Its interior has a industrial feel with a touch of garage and pretty hanging lightings. Walls are decorated with different art pieces too.

Just look at one of their dining tables! Glass top with a motor alike mechanism supporting the glass table. Pair it with the metallic chairs, and a scooter just right beside it! Dont you feel like we are back to the olden industrial era for that short moment.

Back to foodwise, some are good some are average. Anyway just to note they have a all day menu and a after 6pm menu. The after 6pm menu consists of more mains such as protein based food. & so we ordered quite a number of dish to try since there’s quite a number of us. We ordered Mango Passionfruit Smoothie ($6.50). Its a lil sourish, refreshing, you would be able to taste more of passion fruit over mango. Smooth but as most places, its not 100% blended with real ingredients but rather with mixture of water, and so after sometime you can see the separation of the 2 mixtures so just got to stir it well before drinking! Their truffles fries ($10) is quite nice! I love that truffle taste they have. The fries are crispy and every bite you could taste the truffle.

I decided to try their beer battered fish & chips ($19). I still cant appreciate the beer battered. I guess they just add that tiny winny bit of beer into the flour mixture so couldnt really taste anything. The fish and chip is so so, not really a big fan of it. Next up, US black angus ribeye steak ($29). My uncle had it well done, but even though its well though, its not tough at all! Well marinated. It is accompanied with pumpkin mashed potatoes. Barbecued chicken ($18). Half a chicken, meat is tender, skin is crisp. Half BBQ baby back ribs. Meat is soft and tender with a well mixture of meat and some will call it collagen/ some call it fats or whichever. So its like you have the meaty mouth feel together with the soft part from collagen/fats.

Last main for the dinner. Lemongrass prawn burger. Patty is make of of smashed up prawn and taste of lemon grass. Quite a new taste i come across for a burger so far. Desserts time! Apple forest berries crumble ($8). Before it was served i had imagined it as something like apple crumble style, so was quite surprise to see it that way. Its more like your muesli bar or grains mix with berries and slices of apple and bake it in the oven. i’ll still prefer the traditional apple crumble style.

We ordered another dessert too. Chocolate banana waffle ($12). This is good! caramelized banana soft and sweet, it literally melts into your mouth! Waffle is a lil crispy and spongy. Both desserts suppose to come with vanilla ice cream, but i think they ran out of it, so they substitute it with chocolate ice cream. It’s thoughtful of them to separate it, as some might not like the chocolate ice cream with their dessert, as their combination may not match. Very friendly staff too. Quite a nice place to pamper yourself after a day of work in office.
