Reached about 12.30pm at Marche. Noticed quite a few empty tables around, so no need to make lunch reservations unless you have a large group. Was ushered to my table immediately upon arrival. Was ushered to my table immediately upon arrival. Decided to break away from the usual order of Rosti with Mushrooms (which is absolutely wonderful!), and attempted Seafood Paella! It's located at a corner, just beside the stall selling Rosti. There was nobody there when I got there and I had full view of the Seafood Paella, with all the mussels neatly decorated in a large wok. Fried egg to go with it is optional (but I'd recommend it for egg lovers! )
It took about 2 mins before my Seafood Paella was served to me in a small wok. One of the staff then showed me what sauce/garnishing available in front of the stall to add to my dish. The only addition I'd like was a lemon wedge, but I was strongly recommended to take 2 wedges! Then, for my fried egg, he added some pepper and showed me to the Salmon Fillet stall to add a little Kikkoman sauce to it! Quite amusing to me but hey, what excellent service! That's not all! He even got the cutlery and serviettes for me, and placed them on my tray! Would have taken note of his name but he walked away too fast (to serve others I guess!)
The food - really yummy!!! Warning - It might not appeal to folks who like their rice hard, but works really well for me! It's a little like yam rice in texture. Now, there are supposed to be 2 mussels on it, but I've given them away to my friends, who said "the hum" was very delicious! Haha! There are also 2 prawns, some chicken meat and mushrooms in the rice. All in all, a very flavourful dish!!!
Recommendation: This dish must be consumed with at least 2 pax. There is no way to down all this rice in 1 pax's stomach!!! I even tried to "squeeze" more rice in by drinking the "Fresh Lemonade Juice" (which was quite sweet by the way!), but really, no way....
Total Cost:
Seafood Paella - $16.26
Fried Egg - $1.59
Fresh Lemonade Juice - $3.36
