As I have been hearing raving reviews of the colourful XLBs at Paradise Dynasty, I decided to head there with my friend, who was also equally excited to try out! Lucky us there was no queue when we arrive there, probably because it is a weekday and it’s after lunch time. In order to get the correct and finest taste from each Xiao Long Bao, you would have to start from the original flavour, follow by the sequence ending with the strongest taste from the Szechuan Xiao Long Bao. I actually followed the instructions on which flavour to eat first and there were a few hits and misses. Of all the flavours tasted, from original, ginseng, foie gras, black truffle, cheesy, crab roe, garlic and szechuan, I like the foie gras and black truffle the most! The Szechuan XLB actually left me a deep impression as I didn’t expect it to be spicy. As we go through the sequence, I couldn’t wait to try the cheesy and crab roe XLB as I was very curious as to how it will taste like, and surprisingly, it was good. There is a hinge of cheesy taste together with the pork filling and it makes it a very interesting combination. However, just one or two of that is enough as having a whole basket of cheesy XLB will be quite gelat. The ginseng XLB tasted kind of bland, I find that the herbal taste was not strong enough. I don’t really like the taste of garlic so the garlic XLB didn’t leave me an impression. Having tried all the flavours, the next time round I would go for certain flavours only, namely the foie gras and black truffle.

I being a foodie was also tempted to try the La Mian. The Sliced Pork La Mian which I ordered was good, each strand was soft and thin and the pork was thinly sliced and delectable. The broth = perfect, it was rich and flavourful. Will definitely try out the other La Mian next time I'm back here!

My friend ordered the mango pudding as she wanted to compare if this tasted better than her favourite mango pudding from Crystal Jade. We agreed that both were equally good.

All in all, Paradise Dynasty is a great option for reasonably priced quality Chinese food and great ambience around Orchard area.
