This was a trip out to the original katong laksa. And behold, it was the same day Gordon Ramsay was in the house, learning from the owners. Today was also the day I realised that they have two outlets just a stone's throw away from each other. Of course we didn't attempt to squeeze in with the crowd. The chilli was the star. We finished almost an entire container of it. Oops.
Rich, fiery and oh so sedap!
The otak was large with significant pieces of fish meat.
And laksa?
Well, the gravy wasn't as lemak as I remembered it to be. It was characteristically fragrant though. And everything was made better with the addition of chilli. And I loved that the cockles were fresh!
Expensive. But worth that once in a while indulgence.
