If I have a craving for desserts, I would go for cakes, especial cheese cake, whether it is light or heavy, it is always my choice. Frankly, strudel doesn’t attract me! When apple strudel was on its peak time few years ago, it could easily buy it somewhere, nowadays, it is selling at certain places only. Happen that I saw this outlet at Bugis which was easy to access, so we decided to try it eventually. The shop is really simple and small, 2~3 small tables inside and 2~3 small tables alfresco,
The shop is really simple and small, 2~3 small tables inside and 2~3 small tables alfresco, very simple menu as well, one eye see all! Still, apple strudel isn’t my cup of tea. We ordered durian strudel in half. I would say the price is steep to me. Having said that durian filling is quite generous, the light pastry is really lightweight. I don’t like the layered pastry as every mouthful it crumbles and flakes drops everywhere, it is messy in eating it. This is my personal preference, the pastry is a kind of puff pastry, they make it too thin to hold the filling and the overall texture isn’t incorporate well though.
Nope, strudel isn’t my kind of desserts, I wouldn’t have the second serving.
