Biting on a piece of yellow, sponge-like cake reminds my of my childhood. ( spongebob? NO!! ). It's Ma Lai Gao. Direct translation is malay cake. It has a rich flavour of egg and a soft texture, exactly like the one i used to eat when i was young. Not too sure whether what i ate when i was from ho kee but they didn't disappoint me though it will be tastier is it's not so dry. Recommended but there are better alternatives around. It's worth it too. Only 90 cents for a piece.
