I wanted to try the steamed pork ribs rice from this stall but it was already sold out at 2 pm. I was left with the choice of steamed chicken rice and i decided to try it. This stall is manned by 2 sisters from Hong Kong and both of them have been in Singapore for more than 30 years. The rice was steamed first in a metal bowl before the chicken and Chinese sausage were placed on it. It was then steamed a little longer and left in the steamer. The rice was steamed first in a metal bowl before the chicken and Chinese sausage were placed on it. It was then steamed a little longer and left in the steamer. Upon order, they took it out from the steamer. They poured in the sauce to mix it a little with the rice then poured everything onto the plate and served it.
A generous bit of chicken meat served with rice and 2 pieces of Chinese sausage then sprinkled with spring onions to enhance the flavour. The chicken was seasoned lightly and still have its tenderness intact that led to the nice softness of the chicken meat. It would definitely taste better if a little more sauce is added. I shall bear this in mind and to request for more sauce when i come back for their steamed pork ribs rice and double boiled soups the next time.
I enjoyed the pleasing fragrance and the comforting taste of this plate of steamed chicken rice.
