It has been quite a while since I last visited a Crystal Jade joint and I had eaten at this one before (though I can't remember what I had eaten then!)In any case, I'm surprised again to see that there is a queue number, like that of KOI bubble tea shops, before I was ushered to my table. The queue numbers ranged from single no., 100+ and 200+. 3 different numbers flashed consecutively and I'd recommend any customer to stay outside and wait patiently for your turn, instead of browsing around n
In any case, I'm surprised again to see that there is a queue number, like that of KOI bubble tea shops, before I was ushered to my table. The queue numbers ranged from single no., 100+ and 200+. 3 different numbers flashed consecutively and I'd recommend any customer to stay outside and wait patiently for your turn, instead of browsing around nearby and miss your turn (numbers can jump randomly!)
Service was prompt, where my order was taken and food was served quickly. I've ordered the Stir-Fried Beef Hor Fun, a glass of warm Soy Milk and Herbal Jelly (the latter 2 makes up a set!). I've eaten this hor fun previously, and truly, it doesn't disappoint this 2nd time round. What sets this apart from the usual Tse Char is it has lots of beansprouts in it, which probably gave the dish a mild sweetness. The beef was very tender and all parts of it is chewable, and "swallow-able"! As for the hor fun, it was very soft. For a dish like this, it doesn't deserve a single devour! It needs to be enjoyed with slow bites.
Now, do not belittle the serving of the hor fun. In fact, I regretted not sharing it with my mother, and not ordering Chinese Tea after the first mistake (therefore unable to enjoy the Soy Milk fully)! The Soy Milk which I ordered was really good too! It was thick and not too sweet. Looking around, most other people had ordered a glass or two!
I've eaten the Herbal Jelly in Crystal Jade before. But this time round, it's a fresh encounter again! I could really taste the HERBS within, so if you are not going to pour in honey, you are in for some bitterness! In any case, it was a good finish to the already-satisfying meal! (Yikes! Forgot to take photo of this dish!)
There will be a next visit to a Crystal Jade joint!
