Knowing Seletar Airport's rapid redevelopment going on, we knew it was a matter of time when the authorities will shoo the restaurant away.

So, my wife and I, each with camera in hand to record what will be the past in future, arrived there yesterday (Sunday, 22 Apr at around 4pm) to discover that the past has already come....

Even the buildings are no longer there, save for that short row of offices one has to pass by walking from the car park to the restaurant. What used to be the restaurant is now just grass. The big tree by the stream/drain is still there though. The rest, all gone.

Even the nearby hangars and other office buildings that used to house aviation services companies are being gradually torn down.

Photo buffs can go there to record the buildings being torn down though. Great shots especially when it threatened to storm yesterday. Great lighting : the crumbling white buidlings standing starkly against the dark grey storm clouds and lightning flashes.

Do hurry if you wanna take pictures because I think it'll be flat land in 2-3 weeks time. While we were there busy taking pictures, big tipper trucks were moving in and out of that area carting loads of debris from the demolitions although no demolitions were actually going on at that time.

But be careful if strong winds are blowing, lots of sand and light debris flying around. I was in what used to be the main hangar of Fokker Aviation Services snapping away inside. When the strong winds hit, the half-torn zinc roof panes flapped around madly in the wind and created a grand racket. "Blessed" with an over-active imagination, I had visions of Final Destination Part 256 and that's when I decided that our little excursion was over and we scooted from that place.

My question is : what has happened to the Sunset Grill and Pub? I wonder if they're operating from somewhere else or have they closed down for good. Anyone out there knows....?
