The 2 eateries are interlink so we can sit anywhere and order anything from 2 menus. Anyway, both places dish out very affordable ten buck lunch on weekdays - probably one of the worst kept secret in the foodies' world. I am happy with the pricing and ecstatic that I get to eat both western and thai together!

As a fried food lover I somehow love fresh rice rolls ($2.50, extra order) rather than their fried counterparts. It's probably because the taste of mint and coriander can be more distinct in fresh rolls. We like the refreshing feel of the rolls filled with crunchy bean sprouts. However, rice roll at S3 is midget rice roll and I can pop 2 or 3 together into my mouth all at once.

Whatever goodness of the healthy rice roll was quickly compensate or rather negate by our order of Thai Red Curry with Pork Belly. I love love love this so much that I bought their red curry paste home, unable to replicate its taste then went back to S3 the following week. The pork belly was crisp, tender and well marinated. There was about 50% fats and 50% meat for each slice. Totally high quality fried pork I will say. The curry was rich, fragrant and full of complex flavours. It went perfectly well with thai jasmine rice.

I ordered the Angel Hair with Mushroom and was told to choose from non-spicy, spicy and extremely spicy. Of course, I went for the highest level. It was yummy but not that memorable. Perhaps, the red curry overshadowed everything else that day. Nevertheless, it's a simple and good pasta to try if you like yours perfectly al dente.

Do order the iced lemongrass tea no matter how exotic it sounds. The taste of lemongrass was strong enough to excite my tastebuds but not too overwhelming. A and I end up fighting over the lemongrass tea and neglected the boring iced lemon tea.

If only the Green Tea Cup Cake tasted as good as its looks. It was very, very dry. Desserts are the weakest part of the 10 buck lunch and are limited in choices. I am happy with the mains for the 10 buck lunch and A does not has a sweet tongue. If you happen to be a dessert person, go for the $18++ set instead, there are more choices for both mains and desserts. As for me, I am happy enough with my red curry.
