I was thrilled when I got a call from Openrice and was notified that I had won first prize for for a brunch for two at Fullerton Boathouse on Christmas. I have never won first prize in my life hence I was really excited. I decided to share this special brunch with my mum on Christmas. We arrived 30mins earlier for the brunch and it looked like the restaurant had just been opened. Despite being early, we were kindly escorted in and shown to our seats. We were also offered beverages while waiting.

I informed the restaurant we were vegetarians and they kindly accommodated to us by changing to a menu that suited us. It was a four course brunch and the restaurant was almost empty excluding a Caucasian family of three who was having brunch as well.

1st course: We started off with the appetizer which was a colorful & nutritious salad

2nd course: Pumpkin tart which was surprisingly delicious. The pumpkin was coated with brown sugar which made it sweet (tasted nothing like pumpkin) and the crust was warm. It had a very homely touch to it which made it perfect for the occasion.

3rd course: Was a dish which consisted of leek. I have never tried this vegetable before but the meal was light yet delicious.

4th course: We had dessert which was a Christmas cake which was literally dunked into alcohol. I found it a little strong but it brought in the Christmas spirit.

The brunch was amazing, the ambiance was beautiful and the service was great. My mum and I truly enjoyed ourselves and give much thanks to Openrice.
