This is one of the big name in Bak Kut Teh. I have came across quite a lot of reviews about them. And, most of these reviews agreed on a significant drop in their standard as well as bad service encountered. I have decided to check it out myself when i happened to be in the vicinity for lunch.I was there at about 2pm. I waited for the lady in-charge to finish taking the order for a table before placed my order with her. I ordered for the smallest portion of braised pig's trotter and bak kut teh

I have decided to check it out myself when i happened to be in the vicinity for lunch.I was there at about 2pm. I waited for the lady in-charge to finish taking the order for a table before placed my order with her. I ordered for the smallest portion of braised pig's trotter and bak kut teh to be taken away.
After done ordering, someone right behind wanted to take away as well but the lady in-charge informed him that they have already closed. I did not realise that they operated from 12 pm to 2 pm then 6 pm to 2.30 am so it must be lucky day for me to be able to place the last order before they closed. I paid a total of $12.00 for both.
The portion seemed a little smaller for both braised pig's trotter and bak kut teh but at a higher price as compared to others out there. The taste of the bak kut teh was a little too peppery to my liking so i left the soup unfinished. The pork ribs were chopped into pretty small pieces and a total of 4 pieces of them in it. The pork ribs were soft and tender to the extent that it pulled away from the bone effortlessly.
The texture of braised pig's trotter got a nice softness. It was so well braised that it did not even have a bit of oiliness. Anyway, this is not the best braised pig's trotter that i have ever tasted.
I doubt i would be back specifically for both items again but i might eat it once more if i happen to be in the vicinity.
