This used to be the small Hong Kong Street Chun Kee at Block 151, but when the owner sold the shop and moved to block 158, they did not know that the new owner would register the new shop under the same name. Hence you know have two zi char shops both famed for their sliced fish hor fun under the same name, Hong Kong Street Chun Kee both within walking distance of each other! Hence, the owner has now registered the shop as Hong Kong Street Sum Kee to differentiate themselves from the competitor!
Nonetheless, my family decided to give the original zi char shop a try.
1. Hong Kong Fried Noodles $4.50The noodles were reasonably wet, even with some wok hei! The portions are generally huge and you can easily share this plate of noodles. One of the best hong kong fried noodles I have eaten in a long while!
2. Yang Chow Fried Rice $4The Wok hei here was alot stronger than the hong kong fried noodles, but my dad felt like he tasted some MSG. But my mother and I didn't feel thirsty after the meal. There were a couple of crunchy fresh prawns and the rice was very flavourful.
3. Sweet and Sour Pork (Small) $10For $10, they are very generous, there was alot to eat. The pork was very tasty and tender, however the pork could be abit more crispy.
