Paris Baguette latest outlet at Tampines Mall opened a couple of days ago.
A division of SPC Group, an International food and food service company based in Korea and ranked as top brand in the Korean bakery market. Since there were so many variety of breads and pastries to select, I find it hard to make the right choice. Anyway, I bought three types of pastries and a bottle of Mango Royal Pudding for this visit.
The price tag and label "When sweet potato makes garlic pastry" caught my eye. I decided to purchase a piece of this pastry to try. I will try the bread loaves on my next visit. Mango Royal Pudding S$4.50
The dainty packing of the Mango Pudding caught my eyes. At the base of the pudding is a layer of caramel. Rich creamy pudding different from the normal pudding packaging is irresistible.
I chose the Mango flavour instead of the Royal Pudding. The pudding just melts in the mouth leaving a milky lingering flavour. From Left to Right:
Sweet Potato Priced: S$3.10
Flaky, buttery and with sweet potato puree inside the pie. I could not taste much of the garlic flavour probably due to the overall sweetness of the sweet potato puree.
Sweet Bacon Roll Priced: S$3.60
The roll made from a few strips of bacon wrapped around the bread roll.
The bacon roll is filled with small pieces mashed egg omelette.
Though its labelled as "sweet bacon roll" I find the taste is salty.
Apple Pastry Priced S$3.50
The apple pastry is very flaky, creamy and buttery. There was a generous amount of apple pastry in the pie. The apple pie is so flaky that I recommend you have a piece of tissue on hand to keep the flakes from dropping all over the floor. I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit this outlet during lunch time. You may need to spend your full lunch time at the queue. There was only one cashier attending to a long queue. I noticed the young cashier was inexperienced and she seemed panicky.
There were also no seats available at the Paris Baguette Café.
