Was craving for some fish head so my partner and I decided to drop by one of the famous zi char shop in toa payoh to satisfy our cravings. a note for drivers, if you are driving over there to have your meal during weekends peak hours, be prepare to wait for an empty lot or illegal park at the double line cos that place is basically filled with many people with (big families esp)!we managed to get a seat inside the coffeeshop. as there are only 2 aunties to take orders from many other customers,

Was craving for some fish head so my partner and I decided to drop by one of the famous zi char shop in toa payoh to satisfy our cravings. a note for drivers, if you are driving over there to have your meal during weekends peak hours, be prepare to wait for an empty lot or illegal park at the double line cos that place is basically filled with many people with (big families esp)!

we managed to get a seat inside the coffeeshop. as there are only 2 aunties to take orders from many other customers, we waited for quite awhile before the auntie came apologizing to us and take our order.

we had:

Assam fish head - $18
Mamite Chicken - $10
Assorted Mushrooms with Greens - $8

The assam fish head is more towards the sweet taste though I prefer it to be more sour. Plus point for this dish is that the fish head is fresh and there's no fishy smell or taste at all. Can be more generous in their savings of the lady fingers though.

A little disappointed for their mamite chicken as I expected the chicken to come in chicken dice and not in chicken parts (i prefer it to be bonelss). The smell of the dish is nice when it arrives at our table, but taste wise.. couldn't really taste the mamite in it.

The last veggie dish taste good, with generous serving of mushrooms.

Overall, the portions of the dishes is big enough to feed 2-4 pax. which is a plus point for big eaters like me. haha.
