Buffet dinner on a Saturday night! ;)
The Corner Place Korean BBQ
2013-05-05
Am craving for Korea BBQ & my friend bought us to 'The Corner Place Korean BBQ' for dinner. The restaurant look rather small & cramp but it is very neat & comfortable with enough walking space in between.I personally like BBQ pan with 'oil draining system' as it is more healthy & at the corner place they uses such pan for customer which is a plus! Furthermore, every now and then the service crew will check your BBQ pan and ask whether you need to change thealuminium foil to a new one and they can do it within seconds! *Very good customer service!*And below are some of the variety of food I took as I am way too busy eating My most favourite dish has got to be the ginseng chicken porridge as it is so delicious and tasty!I had a total of 5 bowl! That's how ridiculously nice it is and I will definitely go back for more again!!And the tteokbokki is by far the nicest one I'd ever had as it is very soft and chewy!! And the spiciness is bearable which is great for people who can't endure very spicy food like me. Japchae! The most common local delight that never go wrong. Recommend to have some as appetiser before you start swallowing BBQ meat down your stomach. And the rice pancake which I find it alright just that it is a little bland however some chilli sauce with it taste out better!I recommend you guys to try their kimchi & kimchi rice too as it is very delicious!…Read More

Lai Lai @ Jurong Point ; The worst restaurant!!
Lai Lai Casual Dining
2011-12-20
Visited Lai Lai @ their Jurong point outlets for dinner with my colleagues after work last Friday and as usual, I ordered their Set A which comes with a main+a side+a drinks. My side dish & drinks came first and after I finish it my main dish has not arrive hence I waited patiently till approximate half an hour later both my colleagues were almost done with their meals yet my main dish was nowhere to be seen.So I check with one of the waitress politely on the status of my beef noodles and she returned to inform me that it will take another 2 mins to be ready. After a long while, my noodles finally arrived at my table and to my surprise (Look at the pix!!)It came with 'SPECIAL' ingredients in it :Could you see HOW MUCH pepper and spicy oil was added into itThis is what I get for every single noodles I pick up with my chopstick!(I'm serious!)Look carefully at the spoon, could you see how much pepper on itFrankly speaking, I am sure that the cook did that on purpose just because I check on the status of my noodles ONCE. I really can't imagine what I'll be getting if I am those type of nasty customer that make a huge fuss on the spot after waiting for so long. This is definitely NOT the 1st time I had dine in Lai Lai (Jurong Point) before, in fact it is the 5th time and during my every visit I only order set A because I like beef noodles and I'm someone who can't take spicy stuff. And after having some of the noodles, my stomach gets a little upset and my face was burning hot as it is really spicy! This is going to be my LAST visit at their Jurong point outlets and I'm not going to recommend any of my friends to visit this restaurant again.DINE THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!…Read More

Looking for A decent halal buffet?
Tiffany Café & Restaurant
2011-12-20
Selected Tiffany Cafe for our dept early x'mas celebration because of one simple reason ;It is a Halal certified buffet restaurant. Further more we have always wanted to try something new apart from the very down graded food quality from Sakura buffet. So here are some of the food that Tiffany cafe offer : (Note : The crab leg was actually where they place the alaska crab! And it always run out within a few mins after the cook replenish it. -.-'') The food serve there were pretty decent. Mainly Japanese and Western food. There are some chinese food like duck rice and wanton noodles over there whichI try a little and find that it is rather awful.Below are some of the stuff I highly recommended to give it a try :*Fresh salmon sashimi* - *Creamy pumpkin soup* - I had 2 bowl of it!*The dessert section is worth checking out specially the chocolate cake*And lastly . . *Mango with pomelo*…Read More

An Angelic Dinner @ Tea Cosy
Tea Cosy
2011-12-05
Surrounded by tons of Angel Figurines and deco, Tea Cosy is definitely every girls dream place to dine in!I personally tried both and I prefer the Lychee Breeze best as it is very smoothing & cooling while the peppermint cool (with marshmallows on top of it) taste just like milk powder with mint which is very awful. And here's my friend main dish The salad comes along with the Steak)I quite like the Steak as it is very well done(fresh & tender too) and the crispy potato with it is so tasty that I crave for more immediately after my friend let me try the first slice! I highly recommend steak-lover to try their steak while the only flaws is with the salad bowl. The small bowl that they use is not ergonomics friendly at all and the veg tends to fall out every time when we attempt to pick the veg with our folks. Next up is this mushroom pasta which I love it to the max! The mushroom they use are all so big, fat and juicy that the whole pasta carries a very strong mushroom smell ~!!! Lastly, my 'Bangers'(German sasuage) with mash potato & coleslaw : The mash potato is rather tasteless and I don't like the alfalfa sprouts at all which makes me feel like a cow chewing on raw grasses but the sasuage is quite good as you can see from my pix Overall, I really like the place, ambience and food and I can't wait to go back again to try their high tea sets on this sofa with my friend.…Read More

Delicious 7Tea Cafe Bubble Tea!!
7TEA Cafe
2011-11-08
7Tea Cafe is a newly opened stall in Taman Jurong hawker center, 3rd floor.Named with the words 'cafe' it is not really a cafe and it does not have a very lavish design concept like coffeebean/starbucks but the packaging for their hot beverage does look like one of those take-away coffee from cafe.Anyway I'm a huge fans for bubble tea hence how could I miss out to try theirs? As usual, I had Hazenut milk tea(50% sugar) and to my surprise it taste so much like KOI Hazenut milk tea(50% sugar)!! And I am only paying S$1.70 for a regular cup which KOI charge S$2.90 for the same sizing with a 3/4 filled ice! I were told by my colleagues that both the owner(a middle age couple) are Taiwanese and 7Tea cafe is actually an establish bubble tea store back in their home country. Needless to say, all their ingredients are shipped in from Taiwan too!I hereby strongly recommend 7Tea Cafe bubble tea!!…Read More

Wonderful Dinner @ Dian Xiao Er!!
Dian Xiao Er
2011-11-08
It is our department family day and after a day out, my colleagues and I decided to settle in 'Dian Xiao Er' at their Marina Square outlet for dinner. It is my first visit there hence I let my colleagues decide on the dish as one of them have been there before. We ordered the following dish (as per picture sequence) :- Roasted Duck *must try!!*- Baby Kai-Lan w/ Salted Fish & Lime- HongKong Style Steamed Fish Slices- Dong Po PorkThe 'Roasted duck' of Dian Xiao Er really live up to it's reputation. The skin on the exterior is so crispy that every bite of it you could hear the 'ka-zi' sound and the meatin it is unbelievable tender that even baby could chew it by themselves! It is really a must try dish if you happen to visit their store at any outlets. The 'Baby Kai-Lan w/ Salted Fish & Lime' is delicious. No complain and no special aboutit. To me it is just another vegtable on the table. While their 'HongKong Style Steamed Fish Slices' was yet another impressive dish. (Just look at the pix and you will know why! Lol.) Am busy eating away till I almost forgot to take a picture of it. The fish is definitely fresh and sweet and the way it is cooked isnot very salty which is great for people who are very health concern. As for their 'Dong po pork', be it the meat or skin both are very very tender and delicious.Very sinful too as the thick layer of fatty meat is very very unhealthy but still it is worth trying!…Read More

Tealicious = Delicious tea?
Tealicious
2011-11-08
Can't deny that tealicious colorful signboard and bubbly interior design caught my attention at the busy Jurong point mrt station attracting me to try their drinks moreoverit is my favourite - bubble tea!! p.s Their super adorable packaging is indeed very eye catching. I'm a huge fans for Hazenuts & Earl Grey tea hence I've personally tried their hazenut milk tea(50% sugar) & Earl grey milk tea(50% sugar) on a separate occassion and I find that the hazenut milk tea is quite pleasant, almost 95% similar to KOI hazenut milk tea(50% sugar) however their Earl Grey milk tea is very disappointing. I felt like I am drinking a very diluted milk tea which after drinking a few sipped I dump it into the bin.…Read More

Lunching with ex-colleagues!
Nando's
2011-11-04
Had lunch @ Nando's last Saturday with my ex-colleagues and their friendly enviroment at plaza singapura leave a very good impression on me! I had this popular 'Quarters Chicken with their must try peri fries and peri potato salard!'. If you are someone who can't take spicy stuff, do not order any stuff with 'peri' in it as it means spicy. The Quarter chicken is actually smoke/grill chicken and you can chose either the chicken thighs or the breast meat. In my case, I opt for the thighs and the meat in it is so tender and juicy! *A must try!* As for the peri fries, it is pretty good too only the peri salard which is a big disappointment and I find that too awful to swallow after a few bites of it. =X And here's my friend 'Angry mango burger' which I tried it too. The chicken breast meat in it was surprisingly tender and the mango saurce is so tasty & creamy! Making it a real match with the meat! *Highly recommended*And here's my drinks - fresh lime.It has a very refreshing taste which was blended with real lime in it making it taste so much like a vegetable juice and I simply likes it to the max![…Read More

To my disappointment, the fish & chips taste way too horrible while the smoothie is acceptable, not my liking tho & the Roasted Whole Spring Chicken are just so-so with the brown sauce that taste like KFC mash potatoes sauce just that it is lighter.Personal review : Food Pricing : Approx. $35/pax for a drink + one main courseRestaurant Ambiance : A little noisyCustomer service : Good Chances of going back : 0/10 Don't feel like going back again.…Read More

Casual Dinner
PastaMania
2011-03-13
Have been eating pasta from PastaMania for years and my favorite pasta from them is their meatball pasta! Serve in thick tomato herb sauce, the Flame-grilled meatballs absolutely goes well with it! And one thing I like about their pasta is the standard of the spaghetti being cook, it is always just nice and just right. Not too hard and not too soft just right for my liking. If you don't eat beef or can't, I would recommend you to check out their 'chickencheese salsiccia' which is my 2nd favorite! …Read More

The Daily Scoop (Sunset Way)
The Daily Scoop
2011-03-12
A nice place to laze one's afternoon away at The Daily Scoop cafe.Went once with my friend and I fail in love with the place straight away. The wall design is so adorable cute that I thought I am entering into a nursery school. My friend intro me to have their waffle with a scoop of 'simply chocolate' ice-cream on top of it and it taste marvelous! The chocolate taste is so heavy and it goes well with the waffle! Damn nice!I was told that all their ice-cream are all hand-churned and made in-storeby their staff which explains why the taste of each flavors are so heavy andnice. Really worth the money and hassle going down as the location of thestore is located quite inaccessible for public transport hence it'd be better ifyou've got your own transports. Overall, it is a nice place serve with so many unique flavors of ice-cream.Do visit, as it is 100% worth! …Read More

Kuishin-Bo Authentic Japanese Buffet Restaurant
Kuishin Bo - Shokutsu 10
2011-03-12
Had buffet lunch there with my family once and I find that it is not worthy at all. Variety there is not much except for the dessert.Out of the pathetic varieties, only the porridge and salmon sashimi is nice while the rest really cannot make it. Their gyoza is quite nice too just that it is a little too oily.Overall not worth checking out and the staff there is not attentive at all which is why since our first visit, our family didn't bother to go back again. …Read More
