Dinner at Saizeriya
Saizeriya
2012-12-13
I visited the Saizeriya branch at City Square mall for dinner. There was no queue when I arrived. The food sold there is quite cheap, as compared to many other restaurants.I ordered the ham and bacon pizza which was delicious. The pizza is tasty and cheap ($6.40). There is no service charge and GST.The chicken bolognoise doria has an unusual indian spices taste, and I did not quite like it. On the whole, the food there is definitely very cheap and the portion is reasonable. The restaurant provides free flow of drinks for just $2.50 during dinner time and only $1.50 from 11am to 5pm. I like this restaurant and will definitely go back!…Read More

Lunch at Pastamania
PastaMania
2012-12-12
My sister and I ate at Pastamania near my house for lunch. I tried the ham and cheese spaghetti, which costs below $10. The food there is good and the price is definitely affordable! I love the creamy sauce, which was fragrant and appetising. The small slices of ham were of the right size and were juicy and tasty! This restaurant is certainly worth going back, as it is on the lower budget side!…Read More

Gathering at Swensen's
Swensen's
2012-12-12
My friends and I went to Swensen’s at IMM for a gathering during the holidays. The FoodThis is a picture of the food from the menu:Here is a photo of the food, which I ordered from the restaurant:I ordered the grilled salmon set, which tasted good. It was sweet, oily (in a good way for salmon) and tender. I like the slightly salty taste and their generous serving. A big serving of salmon was given and the food looked very appetizing. The light brown colour made the salmon look delicious and the greens made it visually attractive. The mashed potato, which came along with the grilled salmon set was good as well, tasting like the usual ones. I love the greens, which came along with the food, as they were sweet and crunchy. They had an interesting cylindrical shape which made it easier to eat!The tiny bowl of soup was thick and had a milky taste. It went well with the food. The serving for this grilled salmon set is fairly large to me, as I was very full after eating. The fries were ok and tasted very much like the usual ones. They came in an interesting cone-shaped paper, which reminded me of those kacang putih sold last time. The fries came with tartar sauce and chilli sauce, which I felt was quite special! The ServiceThe service is good and the food is reasonable. The staff is polite and attended to us quickly. The food came within 10 minutes from ordering. The AmbienceThe ambience is good and the setting is definitely ideal for larger group of friends. The PriceThe food set me back by around $17 before service charge and GST. On the whole, the prices there are reasonable and the variety is good. OverallI had a great experience with Swensen’s overall and will definitely come back for my next gathering! (: My friends loved the place too!…Read More

Wild Honey Visit
Wild Honey
2012-12-12
My friend and I visited Wild Honey to celebrate a friend's birthday. I tried the English breakfast and was pleasantly surprised when it came. Here is a menu from the restaurant:There was a daily speciality which costs around $25 before service charge and GST.The FoodThe egg was flowing and tasted superb! It was truly cooked to perfection. The bread was slightly toasted with crispy and slightly burnt edges. The meat wrapping the egg was tender and juicy as well. Do request for jam to go with the bread, as it is free of charge and goes well with the bread. The ServiceA little slow and the queue is quite long at around 10.30am. Do expect to queue up as the restaurant is quite crowded and prepare to wait up to around 30 minutes for the food to be served. However, you can avoid the queue by making reservations early. The waitresses there are polite and attend to you quickly. However, the food took a long time to arrive and the wait was quite unbearing. The AmbienceThe ambience is good and the seats are comfortable. However, the table sits a maximum of four people and the fifth person has to sit at the table edge and sit on a chair without back rest. The PriceThe food is reasonably priced at around $22 on average. My meal costs around $23 after service charge and GST.OverallI enjoy the food a lot and it offers a different taste, as compared to the usual English food. It is slightly on the pricier side, but still cheaper than TWG in general. It is suitable for a birthday celebration, especially if you want to experience quality and original food. However, do be prepared to make reservations to beat the queue!…Read More

Dining at Itacho
Itacho Sushi
2012-12-12
My friends and I went to Itacho Sushi for dinner on a Friday night, as a post exam celebration. Itacho Sushi is located at the far end of Jcube mall, but there is always a long queue during dinner time. The FoodI ordered the sushis there. There is this sushi promotion for orders after 9pm. This promotion reduces the prices of some sushis to only $0.80 (before service charge and GST). It is a good idea to go there at around 8.30pm, order some food and order the promotion food items at around 8.55pm. The hot green tea has a very distinct rice taste. There is free flow of drinks for more than $10 spent nett per person. The roasted salmon sushi is PERFECT. It is the best sushi I tasted in Singapore. There is a sweet, fragrant smell that leaves the diner pining for more. The sushi is flame grilled to perfection and is very tender. It is a MUST TRY.The duck sushi is very tasty as well. It is soft, juicy and tender. It definitely scores well as one of the most unique and exotic sushis which blend Chinese cuisine with Japanese food! The ServiceEfficient and polite. The staff there regularly topped up my hot green tea and was quick with orders. However, the food took some time to arrive, as there were many people in the restaurant. The AmbienceThe restaurant is a bit dark but it still offers a good dining ambience. The PriceReasonably priced. My meal usually costs around $15 to $25, depending on the number of sushis and side dishes ordered.OverallI enjoy the food a lot and will definitely come back for more!
