Gin Kao! Aroi Mak Mak ka.
Baan Khun Nai Authentic Thai Cuisine
2013-08-23
Sawadeeka. Sabaideemai?Loving Thai food, for a month, I would have Thai food for at least thrice a month. I'm someone who can't take spicy stuff but when it comes to Thai food, everything goes into my mouth. Not knowing how to share this great food, I would say, it's never a regret coming here except for a few side notes. The great menu but do you know what's so good about this cafe? they do have thai food and also, western food. Really good cafe because they would spoil you with all the choices you have! Cheers for that. I love their Thai food because it's authentic. They do have the level of spiciness you can decide on!This is called "cha-yen" means thai milk tea.Their Thai milktea, not that bad pretty good to go but I would love it if there are more milk in it. It would even taste better than ever! (: Green Mango Salad ($5)This is really good, you can taste chunks of dried shrimps and also, the spiciness is there! You can decide how spicy you want your salad to be, I chose level 2 because the spicy is just right for me! Never regretting this as an appetizer, you should not miss this because it's one of the best mango salad in town that I've tried!Beef Pad Sew Eew Set ($8)It's really a reasonable pricing, not very ex but just above average. You get rice, beef, egg and even a Tomyum soup! How great this set can be? How cool can this be? Beef, they're really generous with Beef however, on the sidenote.. The egg is really oily. You can ask the staff to drain out the oil if you feel it's too oily though. Khȃo Nǐaw Má-mûang ($6)The Mango is really sweet and it can go really well with the glutinous rice they've provided. it's soft, sweet and not very stick. I'm a lover for Khȃo Nǐaw Má-mûang and I would totally recommend this.…Read More

Not very good though.
Cold Stone Creamery

My siblings and I wanted to get a cake for my mom hence we decided to head to Greenwich as it's the nearest to our place. There are probably.. 4 shop which sell cakes. My sister suddenly remembered that my mom said she wanted to try the ice cream cake hence we went over to get it. Not very expensive but I would say that, it's not very worth the pricing though. The whole cake looking awesome, sweet looking and there are strawberries! The sponge is something like red velvet cake, not that bad but I just dont fancy hard sponges, I prefer soft and those which can melt inside your mouth and it's so saliva-drooling till I can't wait for the next mouthful bite. This is how it looks after slicing everything. there are only.. 6 pieces which cost $44. However this is definitely better than Swensens and it's cheaper too!…Read More

Bad choice.
Korean and Japanese
2013-08-23
This dish was meant to share with my boyfriend and I, probably I would say this is the worst Korean BBQ spicy chicken I have ate. The chicken meat tastes sour and it was not spicy at all and what's more: it's very cold. I'm not a very fussy eater however, I couldn't even finish the third mouthful of the chicken. The food here ain't cheap at all, this meal costs $6. The soup is cold too. I would never want to have it again.…Read More

Good to go! Oyster it up!
Char Kway Teow.Fried Prawn Noodle.Fried Oysters.Fried Carrot Cake
2013-08-23
After having all my main course, I still felt really hungry. I walked over to this stall and the food looks alright, not that bad. I order fried oyster omelet and after trying out their oyster omelet, the fried kway teow looks tempting so I ordered another plate.Starting with the Oyster Omelet, I would rate it good because the oyster are mid-range size and they're pretty generous with the oyster. Not really very oily and the eggs are more than the starch hence it's not only eating flour.Ended with Fried Kway Teow, I would say it's not bad but it can be better. This plate of noodles pretty oily and also, the cockles ain't big in size and probably, I would say it's pretty tasteless. ):The service of the staff are really good, they're pretty efficient!…Read More

Souplious!
Commonwealth Crescent Fei Zai Eatery
2013-08-23
My boyfriend & I was planning to have some hawker food for lunch & we decided on Holland Village Food Centre, we drove that but probably I would say it's a little disappointment for me. :(Roaming around the food centre, I really did not see any food that are really tempting. Suddenly, I craved for prawn noodles, walking over the stall, I discovered a weird smell and I felt uncomfortable. But still, I made the order. The very first thing that I would try is the soup, okay, not bad. I believed they've boiled the soup for a few hours, probably they're using pork ribs and prawn shells, I would say, it's really not bad. Moving on to the noodles, its really terrible, so hard, the noodles was not very well-cooked. The prawns are not fresh at all and I would rate this only for the good soup they boiled. It cost about $3.50.…Read More

As cool as it is! Looking good.
Deli & Daint
2013-08-20
It was one of my friend's cousin outlet, pretty young entrepreneurs! I was lingering around at maxwell hawker, not really sure what to get and I chanced upon Deli & Daint. It was really outstanding to be there as the signage was bright and the shop just look so outstanding with the menu and the staff in green. Wondering if the food would taste good? Looking the the empty stall? Fear not, it's really good food here and at a really affordable pricing to go with. $6 for a chicken boneless thigh, with 2 good sides to go. The mash potato is really good, so does their greens. You can just add an additional sides with only $1! And, the portion ain't small too. Probably the only bad thing there is you've to wait and carry the food by yourself. I would recommend people who are looking for western food there to try Deli & daint out! Definitely it would not disappoint you at all! Thumbs up for the good work man! …Read More

Tori Q
2013-08-20
Chanced upon Tori Q at Ion with my colleague, couldn't really decide on what's up for lunch. I was craving for pork with asparagus and here we go!It is always interesting to see how they prepare the items as you pass by the stall. They are good in inventing machines to cook and grill the items, in this way standard and taste is consistent. My all time favourite would be their pork with asparagus stick, hash brown stick and chicken fillet stick. All nice and tender, and best of all, the sauce they made, enhances the overall taste! The queue at this stall is forever long, we have to wait at least 10-15 minutes till our turn however, it's really worth the wait. The seats are limited there hence, please remember to reserve some of the seats before making an order. It's my turn and I made the standard choice of mine, it would never fails to add up till 10 bucks and I would always feel the pinch of it. But I always remind myself, I pay for quality. So far, it's really good, never once I have ate a meal there unsatisfied though. …Read More

Konichiwa! Matcha!
AmaSoy
2013-08-20
Walking along the long food kiosk at ION orchard B4. Looking for a cup of drink, not too sweet, not too mainstream like coke. Wanted something more refreshing, not that sweet. I chanced upon Amasoy, wanted to have their silky beancurd however I saw something new the matcha drink! I'm seriously a lover of Matcha hence I was waiting for the staff to serve me. Only after 3-5 minutes, she stepped out with food in her mouth and also another staff came along. In my mind, I'm like there are 2 staffs and why both of them are doing at the back and no one tending the storefront? I ordered the drinks and wanted to know more about the drinks but the staff couldn't give me a definite answer. I took my drinks and went off, it cost almost $3 for a huge cup of drink. Pretty milky and it's taste a little like milk powder. Not that bad though, for foodies who dislike milk powder or milky stuff, this ain't for you. …Read More

Happy birthday! Baa-baa-baa-na!
Awfully Chocolate
2013-07-24
Good choice of cakes. It was never a regret to have awfully chocolate as birthday cakes. I guess I returned many times just to get the cakes. So is their truffle, really good but a little pricey! It's worth the price too. The sad thing was because I have to get 2 cakes instead of one huge one because for the bigger cake, they only have all chocolate, if you want banana or cheery rum you might need to pre-order which takes about 5 working days. The elegant packaging for the cake. how nice!2 sets of cakes. the icing wording is done on spot by the staff there, nice work!My aunt and uncle birthday falls a few days apart, here's an advanced celebration!…Read More

Coffee made evil.
Starbucks
2013-07-24
Starbucks made coffee evil! It's really so tempting to get starbucks after a tiring day or even after a dinner. There were a few choices back in my mind, I just have to blurt one of the names out. I was deciding to get my standard drink, Mocha frappe or should I try something new like their white chocolate pudding. Personally, I dont fancy white chocolate but my other half wanted to try so badly so we both order the 2 new flavors. Matcha frappe with white chocolate pudding and Mocha Frappe with white chocolate pudding. Coming along with my other half's favourite new york cheesecake and salted caramel bun. Cheers, getting inches along our waistline.Mocha Frappe With White Chocolate Pudding ($7.90) GrandeThe mocha is so rich in flavour, I would say it's so high in caffeine and I totally got immersed with it. However, bringing along with the white chocolate pudding, it made me feel that it's way too sweet. I dont really feel good with that though. Well, pudding texture is just like beancurd however, with white choclate taste, too rich. I'm not really a big fan for white chocolate however, my boyfriend said it taste really good with the combination. Green Tea Frappe With White Chocolate Pudding ($7.90) GrandeI love green tea, or rather matcha however, when the taste is way too sweet, I would rather not drink it because it would taste like some preserved drink and it happened here. I would not say I regretted it all but just that it can be improve. It's too high in sugar, I think with the white chocolate pudding it was even worst. Overall, still acceptable.New York Cheese Cake ($6.50)Never fail to feel cheesy sweet after having this. My all time favourite too. The texture is so smooth and rich in cheese that I would never be able to find such a good piece of cake. The slice of cake is pretty generous too. Salted Caramel Bun ($5.90)Yes, it's very sweet, it seems like having caramel with condensed milk in combination however, it really taste well with these combination though! Cheers for that!…Read More

COLD CHA SOBA.
Ichiban Sushi
2013-07-24
I was craving for Japanese food! The nearest shopping point to my boyfriend's place is Jurong Point so we head over there to settle our dinner. The food not that bad however, I would say, the staff service is so good. When I walked in, I was being greeted with a big smile and I believe some of staff are part time students but they really did a great job.My favourite and I never failed to order this whenever I'm at Ichiban, it just tastes so good! The paste with the Tako is so sweet and the Tako is forever being so chewy! Loving it!My favorite main, cha soba. I never fail to order this too because it's cheap and worth the price at Ichiban. The soba come in a huge portion, good to go for 2 person. Edamame, it's good for health but I dont know why. However, I love salty stuff but not very salty. The peas are sweet and the outer covering is salty hence it really taste very good ,the combination.Lobster sushi, lovers of lobster and wasabi should just go for this, the lobster ain't small little pieces, bite size however, the pricing is probably a little too pricey.…Read More

Nasrin
2013-07-18
My clique with my man was walking along Arab street wondering which Mediterranean restuarant we should head to for sheesha and some fingerfood. We went to Merdandy at first, it's pretty expensive and not worth for the price hence we head to Nasrin as alot of our friends recommend there. However, we have 6 people, we would need to have 2 shesha, that's their rule so we just order 2. Mixture of flavour cost the same too! The food is really good.Especially, the beef wrap, it's really very awesome. Chunk of beefs are out for bites. Their fries are very crispy too! …Read More

Au Chocolat
2013-07-18
My another half's aunt bought him this cake cost her about $68. Pretty good price for a good chocolate cake. One of his Taiwan friends came over Singapore just to celebrate his birthday so we cut this cake at M hotel, good ambiance and good food to go with. What's more to ask for? :)The big chunk of happy birthday white chocolate is good. Rich in flavor and it slowly melts in your mouth, really good and cool. The packaging is in a real sweet pink, really looks cute. My cute little man.My man and his Taiwan friends!…Read More

I thought there were no waiters & waitresses.
Jack's Place
2013-07-18
I was pretty upset because my boyfriend, his family and I was standing outside jack's place for about 10 mins and no one served us. Not only that, when I walked into the main entrance and waited, no one served us too. Until, I saw one of the waiter, I waved and said, "TABLE FOR 5" I was really upset because I'm pretty hungry at that point of time too.So passed us the menus, and one of their senior manger came over to take the order. We were quite pressurize as we feel bad to let him wait while we are deciding, I mean, there are really a huge variety to decide from! I quickly made a choice and I regretted. The senior manger is pretty rude too, my boyfriend's mom was saying "Everyone taking beef?" So he said, "Come jack's place of course take beef, if not take what?" I'm like trying to calm myself down at his rude statement. Well, does he mean that Jack's place only serve good beef and everything else is bad? I doubt so, right?I made my order for steak and fish combo, coming with a Lobster Bisque, coke float as they're having a promotion for $7.90 for 2 coke float. Coke float (2 for $7.90)It was bad, the layout was not done nicely and the coke lost its gassy taste too. Well, what to expect when you pay for $7.90 for 2?Lobster Bisque ($5.90)Oh, seriously, the standard dropped so badly. In the past, I seriously loved jack's place lobster bisque. I was hoping to find back the taste back then because I cant find them anywhere but this is seriously a great disappointment. It does not even have the taste of lobster and the flesh of the lobster reduced. Steak & Fish combo ($22.90)Here comes my main dish, which is disappointing. The tenderloins are all over the steak and my fish was pretty small in piece and, it tasted very fishy though it's pan fried dory. The only thing I console myself with are the vegetable and the potato. Their potato are really awesome and it never changed at all. #Yayness for potato!Overall, I believe there are many aspects that JEM's Jack place can improve on. These are just some of the remarks I would say.…Read More

Jamboree Bar & Cafe
2013-07-10
Team lunch with my boss and fellow colleagues. Jamboree is a place whereby you will find country side feel, the cow boy waitress and the county music. Personally, I do no know how to appreciate country music hence I do not really like the atmosphere. The place give me a feel of me being in Texas. However, I do not know how did all this came about. We order our main dishes and almost everyone have a soup of the day and drinks to come along. If I'm not wrong, the soup is from a canned soup, something like Campbell. It don't taste good at all. Well, for the price I'm paying, I should not grumble much. The menu is stuck on the table itself, not alot of varieties, however it's a bar so what's more to expect from this?My main course was fish & chips. The batter is way too thick, almost everything I taste was flour and the fish was not that fresh. The sauce they gave was pretty solid hence I won't blend into my fish. Overall, I feel that the service was okay however, the food really gotta work on it.…Read More
