One of the main reason why I like Crystal Jade is because of its chilli. I can literally eat the chilli first without anything while waiting for the food to come. Right amount of spiciness, somewhat crispy to me. The salted peanuts which they serve when you enter the restaurant, is very tasty. The best snack is Popiah, They serve all nonya dishes here. They have assam fish, rendang, chicken curry. I just order rice then put a few dishes, like tahu tempeh, fried fish and chicken gravy with alot of sambal and anchovies. So Delicious and yummy. Royal China Dim Sum is definitely one of the best Dim Sum places in Singapore. The prices are rather affordable as well; around $20 per person depending on how much you eat. This place serves buffet and ala cart. Very tasty the Lotus paste bun and rojak from the buffet. The steamboat we put the tom yam stock and boil it, slowly adding the green fresh vegetables, corn, and fungus mushroom. They also have yellow mee noodles and dumplings, tofu, tapioca. I ordered the cheesy french toast and a cup of tea, it comes as a set with boil eggs. I also tried the ice-cream toast, it is very delicious you can feel the ice-cream melting into your mouth. For buffet, They have seafood fried rice, spicy clams, sambal stingray, fried breaded fish, chicken and tasty spicy crabs for the cooked section. Love the crabs the most, extremely delicious! Sat between the interior of the restaurant and the lounge opposite. Ambience wise was good as live music from lounge accompanied the dinner, to create the mood.First we started eating the cold seafood section. The salmon sashimi and the cold poached prawns was very delicious. There were oysters also, but i did not try.At the Japanese section. There was sushi & maki and soba noodles. The only comment I have is, you can avoid this section and save your stomach space for other food. The salad section beside it was better. The 2 kinds of hams were tasty.Onto the hot food, there was roasted beef and chicken, baked whole salmon in tomato sauce, vegetable fritter, fried pappadum & belinjo crackers, vegetable curry, green vegetable, tofu, lamb chop and a potato cheese gratin. The live station that night was mee siam. Dishes that i ate second serving were the lamb chop and the potato cheese gratin. The roast chicken was skinless, leaving only all the dry breast meat on the tray.Desserts wise, it consisted of durian pengat, ice cream, chocolate fountain and fresh fruits. There were 2 flavours for the egg tarts, original & kaya. You can’t really taste the difference between the two but still quite nice. Durian pengat and a chocolate cake was also nice. This place is always very crowded, you have to wait and extremely long time to purchase a set of prata with the fish curry gravy. When you eat it hot hot on the spot, its more tasty. If you pack it up, the prata gets squash into the brown packing paper and becomes hard in texture by the time you bring it back home. I have eaten family lunches here many times, the food is awesome. We ordered the Tom Yam Soup, stir fry seafood with thai basil and peppercorn, chicken green curry, pineapple fried rice, phad thai, kang kong with bean sauce and finally mango sticky rice for dessert.
