Mr Prata is a regular prata stall selling the usual variations of prata with curry. They also offer sugar to go with your prata which is what i always choose. The freshly made to order prata is pretty flavourful and not too greasy. I love eating ma lai goh and have tried a few different ones from other places. I came here to grab a quick breakfast on the go and tried their version of ma lai goh. This one was pretty normal and up to standard in terms of taste. The cake costs $0.80 for a sizable portion. It was soft fluffy light and still slightly warm from being freshly made/heated up. The cake had a nice flavour to it and was not too greasy. The vanilla undertone was a nice touch and I really enjoyed my simple healthy breakfast. Akashi is a place that offered relatively high-end sort of Japanese food. The setting and ambience is casual but the food prices are hardly so. The sets may not seemed to cost very much at $20 - 30 per set, but the portions are small that you can't get full with one of those sets. You need to buy other side dishes or maki to make up a complete meal. The sushi is good though. The California Roll I had was very yummy with generous amounts of ingredients and not too much rice. I only realised that Han's serves pretty good desserts last night. A friend gave us a warm Apple Crumble Pie which was absolutely delicious. The pie was super tasty, just sweet enough with moist apples which still had a little bite to them. The crust was sweet and crunchy and the pastry was, on a whole, buttery and delicious. The popiah here in this mall is quite good, I like it. It is of a rather big size and very tasty. It costs $2 per roll of popiah. There are two options: spicy or not spicy. The filling is juicy and savory with a crunchy bite from turnips; the popiah skin is supple, smooth and chewy. The combination works well altogether and the skin holds up the substantial filling. Coffee bean is a relaxing coffee joint that i like to head to for teatime treats, The coffee is dependable, and the cakes are pretty good too. Th cake i always get is the cheesecake. The chicago cheesecake costs only 5 dollars a slice and is a huge portion. These egg tarts are big in size, and are very delicious. The pulut hitam ice cream at Island Creamery is honestly very unique. There is no other place in the world that serves this flavour of ice cream and does it so well! I don't even like the normal dessert of pulut hitam, but find myself loving this version in ice cream. This Hainanese boneless chicken rice stall at Tiong Bahru Market is pretty well known and there is always a queue whenever i visit. I decided to try it out one day and was pretty satisfied with it. Starbucks doesn't have the best food around, but the lovely ambience and the fantastic coffee make up for the average food. I visited Starbucks to have breakfast on a weekend morning and loved the experience. The ambience is relaxed and the smell of coffee is everywhere. This cafe only serves gourmet pies, coffee and tea too! The pie selection is pretty extensive with both savory and sweet pies available. The pies are pretty good in terms of taste, the chicken pie I had being flavourful with moist chunks of juicy chicken inside. Ya kun is my go to place for a good and reliable local breakfast. The food here is unpretentious simple and affordable and it is really comfort food to me. I like the kaya toast which is a nice brown colour and very crisp and crunchy. The kaya filling is eggy and sweet with a lovely coconut pandan flavour.
