Dinner Out!
Pizza Hut
2013-01-04
Pizza Hut at Jurong Point should review their staff's efficiency and manpower shortage, especially during peak period. Food was served cold, perhaps due to PH eve. They have to improve on this seriously. Ocean Catch Pizza was the most appetizing of all! Followed by the spicy drumlets. Visit them off-peak, you will get better service and warm food …Read More

NamNam Noodle Bar
2013-01-04
We went to Nam Nam for the first time together! Ordered the mixed beef combo pho! Serving size was generous!!! Value for money!!! The lotus tea was bland and you have to add in sugar syrup. The rice roll wrap with shrimp was the most non-appetizing dish. Too hard to be chewed. Service was prompt and friendly staff. …Read More

Twelve Cupcakes
2013-01-04
So much hype about Twelve Cupcakes, I decided to give it a try. Ordered their highly sought after Red Velvet Cupcake ($3.00) and a cup of latte ($3.80). Size of the cupcake is extremely small. The cheesy cream on top tasted good but not the cupcake itself (a bit bland). I prefer Piqué Nique's Red Velvet Cupcake. Their latte was not thick enough and they do not offer healthier choices of milk like low fat or non- fat. Perhaps they should consider having the option since most of us are more health-conscious these days. Service was prompt.…Read More

Craving for some fish meat soup noodles?? This is the place to visit!!! Their fish soup is the best I ever tasted!!!! Sweet and not too salty!!! The fish meat was fresh and serving was just nice! One bowl costs about $5.80. If you eat fish head noodles, it costs about $7.80. Tempted to try their curry fish head (lunch special at $6.50 comes with a barley drink and rice), we ordered one set to shared. The curry gravy was great but the cabbage were cold as they were precooked. Service was prompt and efficient. The restaurant is full house when lunch time comes. So remember to come earlier or avoid the lunch crowd!…Read More

Coffee Time!
Ya Kun Kaya Toast
2012-12-29
Ya Kun has been around for a long time. I like their coffee very much. If you buy the coffee frosty between 3-5pm, you will get a cup of coffee free! Their French toast tasted so soft and goes very well with their homemade kaya! The staff were efficient and polite. The uncle who was making the coffee, helped me to add more water to my coffee when I requested for it. Note that not every branch provides the same service. I encountered unreasonable staff when I visited Jurong Point's branch. …Read More

JPOT

This is one restaurant which you definitely need to make prior reservation if you want to dine on the weekends and even on Thursday! Ala carte style. Expensive but comes with fresh food ingredients and refillable soup base. What's nice?1. Laksa Soup Base - Highly recommended!! 2. Porridge Soup Base - Recommended but the refill is mainly water!3. Homemade Prawn Balls - Fresh and bouncy. However, I think they made the prawn balls smaller! 4. Marinated beef and pork - soft and tender!5. Siew Mai - nice! Cook when only you are ready to eat immediately. 6. Pho - smooth and nice but they increase price!Staff were efficient and polite. Good service! Only downside is the price. Too expensive.…Read More

Dessert Time!
St Marc Cafe
2012-12-29
My 3rd time visiting this cafe! Thumbs up for their desserts! This time we ordered Choco Berry Celebration! The pudding was really smooth, milky and thick!! Me and my friend were so pleased with the pudding that we craved for more if our stomach can fill in more! However the strawberry bits were frozen and sourish.Service was prompt and efficient after my 3rd visit which was really commendable! …Read More

Lucky Dessert
2012-12-29
Desserts' a must after a fulfilling dinner! However, Lucky Desserts disappointed us! Desserts are supposed to be sweet but they do not serve really sweet desserts. We ordered Sesame Paste with Beancurd and Purple Rice desserts. I did not finish mine as it wasn't sweet enough. Perhaps they can add 10% more sugar to their desserts. Service wise was promptand staff were friendly.…Read More

Saveur
2012-12-29
Having heard so much about Saveur from my friend and seeing the special review on Openrice, me and my friend decided to give it a try. We waited for almost 1.5hours from 6.40pm onwards though we thought that we were quite early. There was a long queue outside the restaurant and we knew we had to wait and we were both crossing our fingers that the food have to be good to make our wait worth it. And YES! It's worth the wait! What we ordered:1. Confit of Duck - Most popular dish whereby you can see almost everyone orders this dish. Verdict: the duck leg was done so well - extremely tender texture which melts in your mouth upon first few chews and the top layer was really crispy and nice. The mash potato bedding was perfectly made and it went well with the duck confit. Even the supporting roles - oranges and sautéed mushrooms tasted good!2. Saveur's Pasta - Surprisingly this was served as an appetizer! Tasted great!!! However we found it toodry and slightly oily. The Sakura shrimp tasted good - no weird taste like the ones I tasted I'm Bangkok.Overall, recommended to try! Come early to avoid long queues. Some food may be sold out if you are too late.By the way, service can be better improved whereby waiter and waitresscan be more attentive to customers raising their hands for enquiries and orders. Was pleased with the rate they replenished the iced water. However when we wanted to order the food, wetried very hard to grab their attention. …Read More

Hong Kong Kim Gary Restaurant
2012-12-29
Many of us love value for money food. Hong Kong Kim Gary Cafe is one place to visit for really budget and nice Hong Kong fast food. I have been visiting Kim Gary since its opened at VivoCity (1st branch in Singapore, recently expanded to accommodate more customers). Why do I love Kim Gary? Cheap. Generous Serving. Nice. Usual favorites - Cheese baked rice set meal from $12.90++ (regardless of toppings), borsch soup (comes with set meal), honey pork rib rice (which I ordered that day costs $8.90 for lunch set), spicy big bowl noodles (my mum ordered - cost $9.90 for lunch set), all day set meal (cost $11.90 ordered by my siblings). Come before 6pm, you can get to order lunch set meals which come with a drink and soup of your choice. Serving is generous. Service is prompt and staff are generally friendly. Environment is nice especially if you can get seats near to the window panels and you can see RWS and scenery. …Read More

Wong Kok Char Chan Teng
2012-12-23
Had a lunch gathering with my ex-colleagues at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng. My second visit here. Food 1. We ordered the honey chicken dried noodles - very yummy and delicious! The honey chicken pieces were nicely done! The noodles were very smooth! 2. Iced HK milk tea - not too sweet! 3. Boiled coke - interesting! ServiceAs one of my colleagues was pregnant and I requested to seat nearer to the entrance. The restaurant was only 30% occupied at that hour. They had difficulty allowing me to opt for a seat near to the entrance when the whole row of tables near to the entrance were empty. I thought they could be more flexible in acceding to customer's request. AmbienceParts of the restaurant were dimly lit. Overall acceptable except for the not so compassionate service. …Read More

Vietnamese Cuisine
2012-12-23
Trust me, you will love the taste of Vietnamese food from this stall! Much better than Nam Nam and there are more ingredients too!!! I think the correct name of this stall should be Sunny Viet (as put at the top left corner of the stall). Anyway, I ordered the mixed beef combination pho ($5.80) and fried spring roll ($4.50). The serving was generous for the beef pho with so many ingredients! The soup tasted so refreshing and the fried spring rolls tasted the same as the ones I had in Hanoi back in July! Worth to try out this stall if you have craving for PHO, especially to those people working in the cbd area! I believe the stall holder and the helper are both Vietnamese as they could not understand what I spoke in English. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend you to try this stall! Cheap & good! Lau Pa Sat is not as hot and stuffy. Look for a seat under the fan, you will feel better while enjoying your pho! …Read More

St Marc Cafe

My second visit to Saint Marc Cafe! Their desserts are MUST-TRY!!!! I ordered the Kyoto Delight - big serving for two after dinner. Kyoto Delight comprises of softee, green tea ice-cream, freshly made red bean paste, japanese tea jelly, glutinous balls and the base was made up of some sort of cake (bit salty but nice!), cornflakes and caramel sauce! FANTASTIC TASTE! Service was prompt and staff were polite. They seemed to like from Japan. Ambience of the cafe was good and lighting was just right for a nice hangout with friends or loved ones. Do go and try their desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth! …Read More

Mr Curry
2012-12-23
Our first visit at Mr Curry. Here's a quick review: Food1. Fried Salmon with Cheese Curry Rice (Very Spicy chosen) - Small Serving, curry wasn't too spicy though I chose the very spicy option. I think the curry tasted nicer than coco-ichibaya. 2. Seafood Curry Noodle - Fresh seafood ingredients. However, the curry soup base was too salty. 3. Yuzu Soda - Tasted refreshing as usual! Ambience 1. Simple design and good lighting. Not too romantic for couple. Good for a quick meal. Service 1. The staff were very young and efficient. After we finished our meal, they immediately came to clear up our table. …Read More

MOF @ My Izakaya
2012-12-19
I didn't really have a good impression of MOF after visiting it two years back. We decided to go and try it again at the Jurong Point branch. The sushi were freshly served. The half chicken which I ordered was crispy but meat was a bit tough. The coleslaw serving was huge! The baked potato was not done well - too hard and little bacon bits were sprinkled on top. What's the worst thing when you are having a western meal for dinner? There's NO MORE chili sauce. Omg, I can't believe it as it was only 8+pm and they ran out of chili sauce and they did not even bother to go to FairPrice (which was nearby) to top up their chili sauce. I will not visit MOF ever again. …Read More
