I paid my visit to Tao's restaurant on valentine day for their valentine special set dinner. For your information, they serve regular set course menu for lunch and dinner. Luckily I called for booking in advance before 3 weeks. It was full house on the night. We are at the last slot 8.30pm so we can enjoy our dinner at no rush. The ambience of the fine dining restaurant is modern and spacious. You will get a better view of Singapore river if you sit at the window side which I recommend.The food wise, everything was served in order. The foods were well decorated in nice plate. As starter, we had scallop & sea urchin tempura, escargot platter. They wrote "my valentine" on the middle of the plate for the special occasion. Taste is good for the scallop but not the escargot which I don't like the smell. As cold dish, we had lavender bluefin tuna, compressed watermelon. The tuna was so fresh and so was the sweet watermelon.As side dish, we had soft shell crab tempura, truffle mash. The soft shell crab was mediocre but the truffle mash was impressive. It was mashed sweet potato with truffle. It was so tasty with the natural sweet of sweet potato. The best mash I had.As soup, we had pumpkin soup and cream of mushroom. The cream of mushroom is more recommended even I'm a pumpkin lover because I thought the pumpkin soup could have done better in flavor.As main courses, we had bbq pork rib, apple cider braised red cabbage and crispy skin fillet of Tasmanian king salmon. The BBQ pork rib is highly recommended which was so juicy and tender. However, the salmon was a tad overcooked.As dessert, we had sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream. The pudding is good match to eat with the ice cream to balance the sweetness. As tea, we had hot rose apple tea and ice summer peach tea. If you are looking for the good and affordable western restaurant, you might at the right place as Aston is famous with it's good price and food. The restaurant is located at the shop row behind the Malaysian food street beside the USS. You may find it is quite difficult to access if you are not familiar with place. I would advise you, just walk through the Malaysian food street and go to the back door and Aston will be at your right side corner.Food are standard as usual but the service there might be not good compared to other branches.We order grilled fish with herb and 3 chicken set with different flavor. I paid my visit to saveur during a weekend Sunday dinner. It's always crowded and long queue during lunch and dinner time. I was lucky to get seat because I was early for dinner around 5.30pm. They have a high tech reservation system with iPad setting. The place is quite small and the seating were quite narrow. But it's fine for me as long as the food are good.The food offered are good and cheap. We tried their duck confit, angel pasta, and salmon which are all tasty.The duck confit came with homemade mashed potato, sauteed shitake mushroom, orange segments & orange infused natural juice. It was perfectly done.The Pan-seared sea bass came with saute potato with crabmeat, french beans & caper vinagrette. I paid my visit with my friends during a weekend Sunday dinner. This branch is quite huge with many seats offered. There's a short queue when we were there.They offered good range of Italian food. The food is standard and ordinary. However with the price offered, it's worth a try. We tried their baked fish with potato wedges which I think it is the best dished we ordered. I paid my visit to this hotel restaurant for lunch buffet during my company training on weekday. The place is located at the lobby of hotel. It offered Asian style buffet which mostly local food. It was a standard buffet meal but they do offer a live station for satay outside the hotel. You can try the nyonya kueh and kueh pie tie as well. They offer a good salad selection too.The food I tried is chicken pie which was generous in filling and quite tasty. Their salad selection taste were good also. I love their ondeh-ondeh as the gula melaka flowing in the filling was just perfect for me. Aston is my regular western restaurant if I want to have western cuisine but don't want to splurge too much. It always has a long queue but you may get seat real fast.They offer good range of main course from beef, fish, chicken, spaghetti, lamb. The main course except spaghetti come with two side dishes which separately hot and cold.I had tried their grilled dory fish with herb set with two side dishes. It was my favorite among all in the menu. The sauce is just well matched with the fish.The another set I tried was teriyaki grilled chicken chop which was also good in taste. This hotel restaurant offered credit card promotion 1 for 1 during certain period. It's worth a try if for promotion but not worth for the usual prices.I went for dinner on a weekday night. The food they offered are standard but not much and limited variety..  The dessert spread is quite good in hotel standard. Taste wise, the chocolate cake was decent and others was just passable. The oysters and poached prawn were fresh. The cooked session food was all passable especially the roasted beef in wine sauce. The mussel, scallop were fresh. I paid my visit on my birthday eve celebration. The branch at Clarke quay offer a good open dining place with a view of Singapore river and Clarke quay night life. The food and dessert are standard and above average compared to other branches. I love their dessert which is creative and decent.Despite that, the service could be improved as it was hardly to get noticed sitting at open dining place outside the restaurant. Oven-roasted White Fish w/ Yuzu Sauce. It was oven-roasted to perfection. The white fish paired with ravishing Yuzu sauce in an elegant taste affair. The taste is perfect for the combination.Pan-seared Chicken Breast w/ Shogayaki Sauce. Marinated chicken breast exquisitely matched with shogayaki sauce and a mild edamame cream. Served with onion-roasted potatoes, lotus root slices and broccolini. The taste is good and chicken was tender and moist.Baked Chicken Thigh w/ Wholegrain Mustard Sauce. The chicken thigh oven-baked to a succulent tender with a sweetly fragrant wholegrain mustard sauce served with a side of garden accompaniment. The chicken is juicy and tender. Beef Brisket Baked Rice. Fork-tender chunks of stewed beef brisket drenched in feisty sauce with a golden layer of melted cheese. The taste is quite good and but the beef was quite little in portion.Apple-art Parfait. Curated with chic precision, this artistic trio of golden-baked apple tart, calvados parfait and caramelised apple deglazed with white wine will astound you with a seductive caramel sauce. The presentation and layout of the dessert is so creative and innovative. Despite that, the taste was just passable but not impressive. The mousse kind layer is kinda sour. Pinana Landing. A surreal tableau of warm pineapple frangipane oozing vanilla custard surrounded by fresh banana and chocolate coconut tree is your sensational dream escapade. The best combination of chocolate and banana as dessert never goes wrong. The layout of dessert is so artistic and presentable with beach theme. Puffy Triplets. This branch is different with other branch as it offer noodles and burgers. I like to visit this place as it offer more food choices. They stated the calories in each soup type for weight management conscious. Previously, they have different ordering counter and you might confuse on the first visit.Currently they reconstructed their ordering system which everyone can place their order in the cashier and just seat to wait for the order. It made the way easier and convenient.The mushroom soup was generous in ingredients as you can have many kind of mushroom in bites. The tuna salad and ham sandwich came with the super value set order. The salad was generous in ingredients too.Roasted pumpkin soup has the lowest calories content. I love this soup the most as I love pumpkin all the way. With almond flake added in, the flavor is better with chunky bites in between. The Tom yum noodle is the recommendation dish in the menu. The soup was ok and this set came only with prawn which I think the price is not worthy as this is the most expensive in the menu.Khao soi is a famous and authentic noodle of Chiangmai Thailand. I was craving for thai food after coming back from Thailand so I order this which came with a big chicken drumstick. I paid my visit to this combination theme of modern and nostalgia cafe located along river valley road on Sunday afternoon. It is a corner shop which is not conveniently accessible if you are not driving, but there is a bus stop just outside the cafe and you may reach the cafe from somerset mrt station within 20 minutes walking distance. As it is a small place with limited seats, it was fully packed with customers and we were told by the most friendly stuff that we can be seated after 15 minutes even there was many reservation along behind. We got our seats after 5 minutes though! Best services. Food and drink wise, the chocolate SGD6++ was good but a little too sweet for me as I like bitter taste more. We order egg bens SGD16++ and big brekkie SGD22++. The sautéed mushroom and home roasted potato were the best side dishes, I prefer the scrambled egg compared to poached egg. The prices offered was a little pricey though. I paid my visit during a weekend lunch at jurong point branch. It is a Taiwanese style restaurant. The place was fully crowded and the opening dining place might make you feel uncomfortable as the people passing by might look at you eating.The food was quite ordinary and standard. After viewing so much good reviews about how generous the filling of their bread offered, I decided to give it a try. I was planned to get my favorite pumpkin bread but unfortunately it was not available during my visit. I only able to get the matcha red bean bread on my last visit. As you can see from the picture, their filling is really generous and not exaggerated. This fast food chain is my regular restaurant when I have fast food craving. Normally I don't eat fast food because of health conscious. But I like their French fries, nuggets, fillet-o-fish and mc chicken. I spent my breakfast time at this hawker center located in tiong bahru just to try out the famous 178 lor Mee and hua yuen porridge.However, the Lor Mee was not impressive and not my like. The fish porridge was just ordinary and mediocre. I tried also the carrot cake from one of the stall which taste normal too. The place was full of folks who I believed they are staying nearby the area. I paid my visit on a weekend Sunday dinner after shopping around Chinatown. It was crowded but I was able to get my seat fast.They are famous in frog leg porridge cooked in different flavor. They do offer other dishes which is separated from the stall but same shop. I love their porridge which was well cooked and frog leg well marinated.
