Chanced upon this rustic little eatery whilst deciding on what to have for lunch the other day. I was attracted by the many promotions that seem to scream out on the little chalkboard that they have standing at the door.

There was a 1-for-1 lunch promotion going on if you dine with a friend! *SQUEALS* HOW GOOD CAN THINGS GET!

Popped into the place and after looking through the menu, the dishes were all highly priced. So glad for the promotion!

I ordered the 200G salmon which came with 2 side dishes. I picked the garden salad and carrots in cream sauce. The extra cup was the gravy for the salmon.

I absolutely loved this dish! The salmon were bursting with flavour with the sauce and it was a huge chuck of meat. The carrots in the cream sauce was also really special! I'm not too sure what they used in the cream sauce but it was really good! Garden salad was alright, couldn't really taste the dressing as i was more interested in my salmon and carrots. OOPS! Nearly forget the mashed potato! I liked that although it was a little mashy, i could still taste some bits of potato in it! haha! I think this is really worth the price even though it's a little pricey. With the 1 for 1 deal, it makes it even cheaper! The normal price for the salmon was $19.00. My friend chose a dish with a slightly cheaper price and so our total bill each only amounted to roughly $12? For the chill ambience of the place and the thick slab of meat they gave, I think this place is really worth a visit!

Spending per head: Approximately $12

It is not difficult to find French restaurants in our little diversified island. But to discover one that is affordable for the masses prove to be a challenge! I chanced upon this restaurant at Vivo City the other day. My friends and I wanted to try Jamie Oliver's newly open restaurant but the queue was way too long and we were getting hungry. Opposite Jamie Oliver's restaurant is Poulet which specializes in serving roast chickens!
I quick check of the background of this place shows that it is opened by the Thai Express company. The waiters there are aplenty but they seem to have a limited command of English Language. Yet, this did not deter them from serving the customers with the best service. They were very prompt in their service and you can easily catch one of them lingering around, ready to serve you.

I ordered their signature Poulét Roti (Half, $15.80. Whole, $28.80). Ordered the Whole one to share with my peer as it was cheaper than getting the half version. The roasted chicken was juicy and palatable even when eaten on its own without the sauce. But if you dip a small piece of it into the rich and luscious mushroom cream sauce, it achieves a much better taste! I like that they did not use the canned button mushroom and you could see the whole bit of it. The raw vegetable provided also helps in decreasing the saltiness of the sauce if one feels that it is too salty. This is definitely an arm workout as you'll want to carve out every single piece of chicken meat on this piece of chicken, it is simply too good. This chicken has also broken my rule of not eating the chicken skin! This definitely proves how wonderful it is!

We also ordered the Banana Bread and Butter Pudding, $6.80. I have converted to being a banana lover after tasting this. The taste was not overwhelming and was definitely a good dessert to have after the meal. It left a pleasant taste of this delicious and healthy fruit at every spoonful.

I love that this place is very affordable and the service is good. Not only that, the food is sensational as well! I will definitely recommend this place if you want to try some French cuisine.
