Service : Very friendly staff and I love the fact that most of the servers were always having a very smiley face.

Ambience : Cosy orange lightings always made me feel relaxed and very comfortable. On top of that, great location!! Just a few mins walk to Buona Vista MRT.How not to love Star vista, right? However I think that the seatings are too close to each other thus I can literally hear whatever my "neighbours" were gossiping about.

Food : As it was only me and another friend thus we can only order 1 dish to share as we are both not very big eater. So we ordered pork knuckles, one of their signature. The portion was relatively huge for 2 to share and we didnt manage to finish it.However ,I must highlight that the pork knuckle was quite good, love the crispy roasted skin and the porky pig smell wasn't too overpowering. On top of that, it wasnt too oily and tasted good even on its own without the sauce.Beside that ,I feel that it was quite a filling meal for 2.

Overall : Great experience and I will definitely go back again to try other food on the menu.

Teleported back to the 50s OK Sep 05, 2013

Love the nostalgic ambiance of the place, from the background music to the furniture and the deco in the cafe, you can literally feel that u have been teleported back to the 50s.Finally we can see more of these cafes popping out in Singapore. However,I wasn't too impressed with the desserts there.
As we had our lunch before we popped by Sinpopo brand thus we ordered only the desserts ,Gula Melaka Soft Jelly ($4.90),Sago Pudding ($3.90)and a cup of kopi O($1.60).
The gula melaka soft jelly was too sweet for my liking and overall it was just very ordinary and nothing special. As for the sago pudding,I was kinda disappointed when it arrived in a rather liquid form cos I was expecting something more solidified.
Will I go back again? I seriously would think twice before going back as I wasn't too impressed with the menu and the price that was tagged to the food. However for the ambiance,I might cos I left rather relaxed soaking in the retro nostalgic setting that Sinpopo brand has

Categories : Thai | Hawker Centre | Seafood | Buffet | Mookata

One of the reason beside that this place is super cheap is they have very good homemade thai chilli sauces which many places don’t have. All in all they have 3 types of chilli sauces which is suppose to go well with either seafood, meat or another type which is the so called similar to MK steamboat one.Personally I like the seafood one the most as it’s a bit more on the spicy side with a tangling citrus after taste.
Other than that, they have no set menu, everything is by ala cart order. However, most of the basic food for mookata are all listed in the menu like prawn,chicken,pork,beef..etc
I spent $24.40 for 2 pax which I think it was very cheap as usually I spent more than $25 per pax at other mookata place.

Coffee with a twist Smile Sep 11, 2013

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

Ambience : Quiet small shop with very high ceiling.Love the fact that it is less crowded and not so noisy as compare to other branches. The high ceiling always without fail made me feel more comfortable.

Ice Cream : One of the ice cream that I would always order when I come to Ben & Jerry's is the coffee coffee buzz buzz buzz as it is not available in pint in the supermarket. Love the just right coffee taste that is not too overpowering nor to bland and with the espresso bean fudge chunk,it's simply heavenly. As for the waffles,I personally feel that as a dessert the portion is just right.

Service : Very friendly young lady who was a full day shift alone that day. However she was friendly enough to make sure that I gotta try out a few flavors b4 deciding.

Overall : I would drop by again soon as I like the quiet environment there as well as the lovely ice cream flavors that are available.

Even fried food can go wrong here Cry Sep 11, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Restaurant | Seafood

Ambiance: I must give some credits to the one who renovated the place as I was drawn to the place for the beautiful fishermen's pier renovation that it has. On top of that, the restaurant is very brightly lit and has a very vibrant and welcoming feel.

Food: I ordered Clam chowder and Caribbean seafood for 2. Can I tell you how upset I was with the meal? The clam chowder that tasted like a bowl of creamy white unknown substances with many potato bits and the Caribbean seafood platter was totally sucky!!! The platter was basically deep fried food BUT even deep fried food tasted so wrong. It was literally soaked with oil,the batter was bland and thick while the fish was wee bit small and soggy. On top of that, the prawn weren't deveiled and the fries were just soft and soggy.Seriously bad experience.Bad food.

Overall: I will never never go back again. If you want overpriced bad sucky food, this is the place that you should go!
P.S : I don't think I have high expectation for food but I do have no tolerance level for sucky food.
