Here are some food my friends have taken for the bbq. It was nice as it is a buffet we can take all we want with a prize. So i took lots of pork and chicken. It was fun bbqing the pork and and chicken. I took the prawn too. Some of my friend also wrap the pork into the vegetable. There are many choices so everyone can eat till full. It is suitable for the halal so you can bring all the malay here.

I didn’t know about Lim Seng Lee duck rice until one of my colleagues introduced us to this place. It was my first time trying out the duck rice and it is located at South Buona Vista. We ordered such duck and two other dishes. The rice came in a bowl with the sauce already drizzled on the rice. As for the duck dish, the duck was served debone with just the meat and the duck tasted really succulent. We also had the spinach, a plate of tofu and some duck liver. All of the dishes are equally tasty. In particular, I also like the how the restaurant looks like. It looks really traditional furnished with old-fashioned furniture and vintage décor. Definitely a must try!

Crepes! Smile Jan 21, 2013

Crepes for dinner! Well, you might think that's more for a snack during teatime or your desserts after a meal. But that's not so likely with Saybons, the French Food Factory. The crepes are not only delicious but also filling. There are a wide variety of choices and I'm sure everyone could find something of their likings. I chose the crepes with ham, eggs and mushroom and I totally love it. What's more, you can top up another $4.80 for a bowl of soup (there are many different types of soup to choose from too!) and side dish ( choose from: garlic bread, potato chips, lemon tea or banana). I think the food are really good and affordable. Now, i'm craving for more crepes! lol

2D1N Smile Dec 15, 2012

Dropped by 2D1N Soju Bang for their famed Korean BBQ buffet. The buffet place is housed on the upper floor while the a la carte restaurant is housed on the lower floor of the converted shophouse. There has been an attempt to improve the ventilation upstars- the windows are all flung open and they used several fans and wind blowers to help cool the surrounding air and improve air circulation. As we visited on a weekday dinner time, the place was not fully packed to the brim, but even at its busiest crowds, I did not feel overly uncomfortable or hot from the simultaneous cooking happening in all BBQ grills. My only gripe is the narrow space and walkways. As the tables are quite packed closely, I felt it was hard to get out of my seat to get food without disturbing the neighbouring tables.

2D1N has an extensive selection of marinated meats- beef, pork, chicken in a large array of sauces and marinates are available in the buffet counters. Meat lovers will definitely rejoice here. Besides the meat selection, there is also a small salad bar with BBQ staples such as enoki mushrooms, kim chi. There were also fresh prawns for BBQ. Drinks wise, there's a drink dispenser which has free flow iced water or lime juice. The BBQ meat selection is what you should be gunning for here. The variety of meat is mind boggling and for a moment I was a little mixed up too. Luckily, the place has the buffet counters labelled with the right meat. The BBQ meats all turned out very well- if you do not overcooked it (till it is burnt black), the meats turned out really tender and flavourful. The marinates were all different and distinct from each other and it's hard not to find something you do not like.

Service wise, the staff were really observant and changed out BBQ foil at regular intervals when the grill got too clogged up or too burnt.

For full review - http://midas400.blogspot.sg/2014/06/hatter-street-cafe-waffles-four-seasons.html
I had an impromptu coffee session with one of my sista who stays just across the street from Hatter Street cafe. We were there at around 5pm on a Friday evening and the cafe is about 70% full.

The tiny cafe has a whimsical decor theme which sets it apart from the usual industrial themed decor of similar indie cafes. The cafe's name Hatter is derived from The Hatter, a character from the story Alice in Wonderland, who loves having tea parties in the magical wonderland. The menu is written on the whimsical wall murals, no physical menu will be presented at the table.

This cafe is self service style, just walk in, pick a seat and place order at the cashier counter. We ordered 2 of their specialty waffles and ice drinks to beat the late afternoon heat.

My Whoaffe with Pandan ice cream & Gula Melaka sauce $8.90. Whoa...the waffle smelt great when it arrived at our table. I was totally blown away by the crispy crust and soft fluffy center of the waffle, and the homemade pandan ice cream tasted heavenly with a very authentic pandan aroma. Thumbs up!

My sista's Whoaffle with Chocolate ice cream & Chocolate sauce $8.90. She was raving about the yummy chocolaty ice cream and crispy crusted waffle too!

Please do not be deceived by the seeming small portion of the waffles in the pictures. The waffles was really quite big piece, probably the bigger scoop of ice cream contributed to the false impression.

Our drinks Ice Mocha $6.50 and Root beer Float $4.50. They both tasted average, nothing to shout about.

Hatter Street cafe is a nice little place to chill with small group of friends over simple desserts and drinks. They do not serve any sort of savory food or snacks, and no gourmet coffee available here...just really good desserts and regular drinks. Seating space is really tight, so my advice is to avoid weekends peak, and don't come in groups of more than 4pax!
