Steam Sia is a place where children born in the late 19's still can have remembrance of their childhood. As part of their decor, they have old nokia phones, which are known to be as durable as hammer, snakes n ladder board games, old ceramic bowls and plates, rotary phone, and also a hopscotch drawn, etc! Seems very Singapore style cafe, but they do serve western food too.

Ordered raisin float for only $5.90, which I liked a lot. Sweet, and have my favorite rum & raisins!

Seaf

ood Stuffed Sailing Boat $8.90. Don't really see much seafood in it, except for prawns?? Something like baked potato with prawn as topping, some bits of mushrooms. Tasted ok, though you can grew sick of eating it.

Nonya Assam Prawn with Pineapple $8.90. Their prawns and big, but not as crunchy as I wanted it to be. Assam sauce is not too sour, just nice for me smile Neither is it too spicy tongue

Steam Sia Nonya Curry Chicken $12.90. They also have it for serving 2 pax at a price of $20.90. Curry looks spicy, but it is ok. For average-spicy takers, this should not be a problem. They have tomatoes in the curry, thus, I think this emits a little sweetness to the curry, lowering the spiciness in some way. Their bread is soft to pull apart and chew, making my meal less energy intensive!

They also have 3 corners which I think are quite cosy, more to having a little more private space. Do read my blog for the illustrations!

I was so excited when I learnt that this Dim Sum joint from Hong Kong is coming to Singapore. I recently have just tried Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong and I love the Dim Sum a lot. Well, I can't bring it back, so I'm really happy that this is here. I realized they have the concept of the 4 heavenly kings here, it comprises of Steamed Egg Cake ($3.80), Pig Liver Chee Cheong Fan ($5.50), Char Siew Bao ( 3 pc for $4.50) and the Pan Fried Carrot Cake ($4.50). I love the Char Siew Bao the best as they glazed it with butter and packed the Char Siew inside a polo bun. This is a must-try. I would recommend having it in the restaurant once it is served. Steamed Egg Cake was typical but was nice when it was served hot. The Pig Liver Chee Cheong Fan was a tad too thick and I didn’t really like the taste of the Pan Fried Carrot Cake. Perhaps I’m not used to use cause there were minced dried Chinese sausages in it. I loved the Siew Mai (4pcs for $5.00) and this had a similar taste as Hong Kong; one of the best Siew Mai I have had. They use fresh ingredients such as prawns and one can really tell from the difference. Another dish that I would recommend is the Pork Ribs with bean sauce ($4.20), this was really tasty. I was also glad that they have a takeaway counter so that people can just take away so they do not have to queue for a long time. The decor of this place like a typical char chan teng atmosphere (tea house) with sauces at the side and furnished with traditional char chan teng furniture. Overall, being a Michelin star restaurant, prices is abit on the high side but it is worth trying.

Best Ice Cream Joint Smile Apr 19, 2013   (Related Review)

So far still the best ice cream shop compared to udders, scoopz, marble slab, etc, considering the flavours available and the price charged. Smallest size at $3.40 for 2 different flavours; they constantly come up with new flavours for customers to try, even had a 'mystery' flavour. If you happen to go during weekdays from 3-5pm, for every waffle, there will be a free scoop of ice cream; very good a deal. Milk ice cream has almond bits in it, and granny's favourite has cookie dough, both are highly recommended

Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

This brand new fast food outlet that shares a similar title with a song from The Beatles opened in Toa Payoh and their main line of business is selling cheesesteaks, something that is pretty rare to find in Singapore. According to them, the Yellow Submarine was created after numerous taste testing of bread, a search for the best tasting cheese out of 50 cheeses and the perfect fries, which really sounds like a whole lot of effort to find the best formula of a chessesteak of their own. Apart from those, they sell burgers and desserts to compliment with the meal.

The combo meal consists of a cheesesteak/burger with Torpedo Fries and a drink. The Yellow Submarine Classic Cheesesteak is probably the closest thing to the well known Philly’s Cheesesteak originating from Philadelphia. Containing beef, caramalised onions, cheese and tomato sauce (?), it is a combination that would not go wrong. They were quite generous with the ingredients. I particularly loved how the cheese melted which was gooey, though the beef was slightly tough in certain areas.

The Torpedo Fries are cheese fries with a fancier name. It comes standard with all combo meals so there isn’t a need to top-up for s meal just to get it. The fries are just thick, crispy and fluffy. They were very generous with the cheese sauce, and is served hot and it was gooey and just sinful in the nicest way. Definitely one of the best cheese fries I had for now.

If you are looking for a Pet Friendly Café where you, your dogs and your friends can go gathered together over a nice meal, this is definitely a great place.
They served great fine dining style food and their chef used to be the Head Chef for 10 Downing Street (UK ‘Istana’)!!!
Great place for your Christmas party and new year party too!!!
