Kazokutei prides itself in the delicious and high quality handmade udon, and the healthy cooking methods used by its chefs to bring out the natural taste of the noodle. Promotions and set lunches are common here, catering to the lunch crowd of office workers in the vicinity. This set lunch ($14.90) consist of 3 variations of cold udon, served together with mixed tempura and assorted sushi...

Came across this newly opened dessert store at Changi Village. You won't miss it, the decor is rather eye catching. They sell traditional desserts like sesame paste, and also mango pomelo sago, etc. I got the durian pomelo ($5), but was rather disappointed, as it wasn't puree but watery, with lumps of ice and durian scattered around, wouldn't recommend this. I got my mum the purple ...
The name of this stall immediately got the attention of ours and we ended up buying the cold beancurd dessert from them. There are a few variants available, the original, durian, chocolate, almond etc. I originally wanted the durian soya beancurd but it was sold out so I bought five tubs of almond soya beancurd back home to try. The almond flavour costs $2. The almond soya beancurd is quite...
The staffs here were very friendly and helpful. When we were there the captain immediately recognized us. We had been to this restaurant only 2 times. We were looking through the menu and could not decide what we wanted to eat, so had to ask the captain for recommendations. This was recommended: 上汤炸鱼皮 (Fish skin with pork bone broth) - S$13.00We were s...

Looking for new dessert place around town area and found Vanilla Bar & Café. I ordered a Chocolate Molten Cake. Warm dark brown cake was rich and luscious, when I cut into the middle of the dense cake, gooey and hot chocolate slowly flows out. Accompanied by cold smooth and velvety vanilla ice cream. This place is cozy and quiet, would definitely come back again to try the savor...
As one of my colleagues is vegetarian, we are recommended by him to try out this unique vegetarian Japanese cuisine, located at Fortune Centre, Bugis. The ambience is quite nice, just that it's a little bit noisy and the lighting is dim. We ordered the bento set each and some side dish to share. The mock salmon sashimi really imitates the texture and even the flavour of the real salmon...
Forest Restaurant is located at Sentosa, Equarius Hotel with local celebrity chef Sam Leong. The ambience of this restaurant is fantastic. We tried the Summer Set Lunch. The portion was just right and every dishes tasted so delicious. My favourite is the complimentary appetizer which consist of a Cherry Tomato, a small piece of preserved plum and mint. This chilled sorbet is ...

I have tried the Seoul Garden Hotpot at IMM. You can either chose the miso soup base or the Kimchi and I have chosen the Kimchi soup base. The kimchi doesn’t taste like the usual kimchi from outside. It has more of the sweet taste rather than the sourness. However, the sauce base is rather thick. As for the ingredients in the soup, it is rather bland and it has limited variety. ...

This is black pepper chicken chop under choice of Grillworks chicken in the menu. The chicken chop was quite tender and juicy. As for the two hot side dishes which are tasty rice and fried onion ring, complement well with the chicken. There was quite a generous amount of black pepper sauce as gravy which does not makes the course too dry. Perhaps I will try veggie side dishes next time.

Went there together with my family with vouchers. My father commented that Jack's Place in West Cost Recreation Centre is very different from other outlets. it is one of the oldest restaurants. I strongly agreed, it is there since 20 years i guess, or even more. I celebrated my 10th year old birthday there. the sizzling hot plate is nice, i had my combo. I don't like lamb, there i opt...

Inflation is real! The Yong Tau Foo from Meng Kee is no longer $0.40 per piece. It is now $0.50. Nevertheless, I don't mind paying slightly more for the Yong Tau Foo from Meng Kee as it is delicious. This stall serves a huge variety of Yong Tau Foo and I think many of which are made by the stall owner himself. Personally, I love the fried ball (I don't what it ...

I was shopping at the Wisma Atria recently & happened to pass by Subway Niche & saw the tempting eclairs on display so decided to buy them. They cost just 3 for 1.6 $. I picked up 3 & started eating them. They were so chocolaty, creamy, smooth & soft. I had no idea, we can get such good eclairs in Singapore for so cheap. They just melted in the mouth. I guiltily finished all 3 &...
I wonder why it took me so long to find this gem. It is at a deserted part of smith street market, same section as the famous Ikan Bilis Yong Tau Food. I was drawn to the smell of fish soup and fried hor fun. When i saw the fire that erupted from the wok while the uncle was frying the hor fun, I knew that this will be good! I know this will certainly achieve the wok hei taste that is unfo...

I was giving a friend from Canada an introduction to hawker centre food, so ordered both the popiah and carrot cake from this stall. The popiah cost $1.50 each and were a generous size. The skin was a bit bland, but inside had lots of different textures like mushy turnip and crispy bean sprouts. The dash of chili makes it even better. They also put hard-boiled egg in their popiah. ...

I have tried many different stalls of Shui Kueh from various part of Singapore, Ghim Moh, Bedok, Bt Timah, to name a few. My favourite is still this stall in Tiong Bahru. It used to cost 25 cents each but now the price has been raised to 30 each, i.e. $2.40 for 8. Even after so many years, it's standard has never dropped. Their service was still very fast. Today, we were at ...
