On 13th January 2016, my husband and I were honored to be invited for a free food-tasting session at Wildfire Burgers, a restaurant located at 313 Somerset, Orchard Road. The restaurant itself was in a prominent spot, a breeze to find, and the overall ambience was pretty pleasant. We got to try a total of seven dishes: Black Ebi Burger, Truffled Mushroom Burger, Souther...

Red my detailed review on: http://hungrybird.sg/2016/01/07/fu-lin-men-dou-lao-invited-tasting/  The "Dou Lao" steamboat concept comes from Macau and is different from the usual Sichuan steamboat we know of due to 1. Emphasis on fresh seafood, and soup base being light, so as not to steal flavours from the seafood 2. Individual pots This has much to do with th...

great overall though the pricing is abit too high as the Black Ebi Burger cost $19 and Truffled Mushroom Burger cost $23. Definitely worth it to try the sichuan fries to experience the tingling taste and the curry fries which is delicious! Great restaurant and nice ambience in the restaurant though the restaurant is a bit too dark. $101 dollar for 7 dish is a bit expensive...

Located opposite the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum is this Chinese vegetarian restaurant that has been established since 2007. Step into this 3-storey shophouse restaurant and you will be warmly welcomed by its friendly staff and tasteful decor. As Chinese New Year (CNY) is just about a month away, the restaurant will be serving its CNY Set Menus from eve to t...

My 2nd visit (3rd - 5th visit for other dining members) -  chotto matte donburri (too salty which over powered the negitoro, salmon roe, supposed sea urchin (cant see) which cannot be redone cos it was done with yuzu and truffle salt);  scallop with foie gras (scallop over-cooked unfortunately)  wagyu beef slices (medium rare nicely done but unfortunately again heavily sa...

Went to Faigo Hotpot to celebrate Christmas with my colleagues! Had a great time, food was good but we waited 90 minutes for our table! 50% off for all items as it was the last day of their opening special promotion, it was worth the 90 minutes wait.Ordered a Mala Soup Broth, it was more peppery than spicy. The more it boils, the better it taste. Beef was thinly sliced, fre...

Follia Smile
I've been wanting to try Follia for a while now and I finally got to try it last week when I took half day leave from work. I used to take up a telemarketing job at that area when I was younger and all they have is pretty much pizza, thai food and coffee shop. I walked past Follia few months back and got really excited because wow, an italian restaurant at industrial area??! Okay I'm ...

This underrated restaurant located at Clover Way, Marymount deserves a mention. Just an uphill 5 mins walk from Marymount MRT, there's a quaint restaurant that serves good italian food at a reasonable price. Their weekday set lunches are extremely affordable! From pasta sets starting from about $8 to promotions on Saturday where they have 2 beers and a pizza for about ...

The tau sar piah at this shop is the BEST!! Always freshly baked and hot when you buy it. Buttery fragrant crust and both the salted and sweet versions are good. Guarantee chop and you won't regret it. It even taste good when it turns cold. Always a happy customer whenever i am here!

This is princessmic living in Buona Vista. I am a Regional IT manager, work in Somerset. I like to hang out in Central, North, West. Japanese, Cantonese/Hong Kong, Chinese, Korean are my favorite cuisines. I also love Hawker Centre, Restaurant and Zi Char, Dim Sum, Steamboat/Hot Pot.

Situated at Orchard Central. The shop is really not hard to find. They often set lunches which is very convienent for excutives like us. They used brown rice instead of white so is more healthy. Thick pieces of salmon makes it more value for money. Comes with a bowl of soup and drink.

It has been a while since my last OpenRice tasting. This time round is at CATO , the modern Asian restaurant and bar located just opposite the Sri Mariamman Temple. CATO offers an extensive list of craft beers, spirits and quirky tapas or bar bites. The 4 months old (opened on July 2015) is well-known with its craft beers but we are here to try their food for this sessio...

Being a tea junkie and a Dilmah fan, I was looking forward to finally attend the ‎Dilmah x Earle Swensen's tea appreciation workshop at Vivocity last week. The event did not disappoint, with the sessionwell planned and an experience that was fun as well as informative‎. The area set aside for our function was a tasteful, riot of colours. Various flavours of Dilmah's 'Excep...

Halloween has crept up on us once again and my post today is to show you where to have a "horror-ween" good time. Halloween is not widely celebrated in Singapore, in fact this year there's only the Halloween Horror Nights 5 that is happening. (I miss Sentosa Spooktacular) So you can imagine the crowds and queues there. Alternatively, one could actually celebrate Hallowe...
