When I first stepped into La Marelle, I thought a Candy Crush bomb exploded in it. Located on the second floor of a shophouse at Bagdhad Street (near Arab St), the bright airy cafe was adorned with colourful walls decorated with cloud and raindrops motifs, flowery paper lanterns, whimsical decorations and merchandise for sale. I went to La Marelle twice actually. The first t...

Tiong Hoe Speciality Coffee is a hidden gem at Stirling Road, but it's no stranger to the neighbourhood as it's been around for 50 years now. The owner, Mr Tan, is insisted on the traditional method of roasting 100% pure coffee and providing quality coffee beans to households and food and beverage establishments. Only just few months ago they decided on exploring the cafe c...

I was lucky enough to get to dine here recently. Talking about location of the place, for drivers like me, its near the rear carpark (FOC!) facing the rugby field and you walk up the staircase near Omakase Burger and the entrance to the building itself. You will find it at the same floor as Ah Yat Restaurant. With seats overlooking the rugby field, this newly opened steam...
This eighteen chefs outlet at The Cathay is one of the many outlets opened. I thought this is the only one. Their menu looks good but is not. The service could be better. Ordered the aglio olio and set B. Set B is served with drinks and soup. The mushroom is good, enough mushroom taste and not diluted. However, the aglio olio pasta is bland. It is just pasta that was cooked in b...

The spaghetti cooked with the chunky tomato sauce and served with a slice of juicy pan fried chicken breast. The spaghetti was perfectly cooekd and soaked up all the goodness from the tomato sauce. The downside was that the dish tasted slightly bland - few dashes of salt could solve the problem. The breast seem out of place (didnt really merge with the dish).
The Macarons are unique and very strong almond flavor! The filling are not sweet like the usual one, it is less sweet and easily to swallow in 5pcs at one go. Love the Rose petal, Lychee martini, chocolate and matcha. The shell are crispy outside and inner filled with enough moisture to soothe your throat. The Macarons come in round shape, but not consistent, that...

I think many Teochew food lovers would have heard of Ah Orh since it has been around since long time ago. I was introduced to this place by my uncle who found the dishes at Ah Orh authentic and good. There is one Ah Orh in Bukit Merah and one in Sin Ming. We went to the one in Sin Ming. One of the famous dishes in Ah Orh is the Teochew cold crabs. The crabs ar boiled...

As I really love finding great liu sha bao, walked past and saw their menu. If you love custard with more salted egg yolk taste, try it! If you love pandan, their baos have pandan fragrant If you love your custard bun with the custard oozing out, try it!Their service is good, staffs are polite
It is our first trial at strictly pastry. carpark is tough to locate as its at joo chiat. The place gives a very oldies feeling with oldies song playing in the background. What is lacking is a nice cuppa of latte or capo to pair with the lovely cakes available. My pick during this visit is the badger, rich in choc and tastefully soft. So it is more of a take away or if you want a yumz and sp...
I was looking for somewhere to eat in the club street area and I heard about TG from my friends so I gave it a try and I'm definitely coming back for more! Pasta is Truffle Gourmet's strong suit as they get adventurous in their delightful Cocoa Spaghetti. Don't be put off with the cocoa pasta as you'll only get a mild hint of chocolate only on the finishing bite. So there's ...

I’m totally not exaggerating when I say that La Strada has one of the BEST Carbonara I’ve ever tried in Singapore. And most of the other dishes on their menu are equally good too. The price range is slightly higher than Jamie’s Italian, but the quality of food here is so much better, as you would expect from a restaurant under the Les Amis group.First up, the Risot...

I've read great reviews and also read some horrible things about this place. I will just attribute my visit as an unlucky one becuase I belonged to the terrible-experience group of people If you still want to give it a try since there are others who think its good, I have some tips to share on my blog on top of my review for this - http://teacoffeerain.wordpress.com/2014/07/13/...

Had always wanted to try their royal pudding but due to its high price, I stopped myself but this time i bought it together with some breads and pastry. All of it taste superb. Garlic bread is my favorite i can finish the whole loaf alone, once you start eating it,you will never stop. I put it in the oven again when I'm eating it, it became very crispy ,the taste of garlic is just right, a b...
Many ramen joints have been sprouting around the island. Most of them being in town, I was especially happy that a reputable ramen joint opened near my place of residence. Opened by the Breadtalk Group, which opened the Ramenplay chain of ramen restaurants, I was quite confident that Sanpoutei wouldn't disappoint. Bouyed by the fact that a queue is often seen at Sanpoutei, I knew...
