Grass jelly soy bean drink Smile Aug 12, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hawker Centre

I came here to do marketing on a weekend morning. Grabbed a local drink to drink on the way. The drink I ordered was the soy bean drink with grass jelly topping. The drink cost about $1 and was pretty good. It did not have too much ice in it such that it got diluted and was just sweet enough. Usually most places have drinks that are either too sweet or not sweet enough.

Besides that the stall also sells tau hway dessert. These are the only few items the stall sells. The tau hway is pretty smooth and silky, but a soy bean drink is much more refreshing

Grass jelly soy bean drink Smile Aug 11, 2013

I really like grass jelly drink and at the same time really like soy bean drink too! So this combination of soybean with grass jelly strips is perfect for me. This drink costs $1 and is a rather large cup. There is always a long queue for this stall too! The soy bean taste is strong and not too sweet and the jelly strips add contrast of texture to the smooth soy bean.

Good waffles Smile Aug 11, 2013

Stranger's Reunion has really good waffles. It's a good place to head to for brunch on a weekend or a public holiday. The waffles are crisp and light and have good bite to them. Accompanied with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and some fresh fruit they make for a decadent start to the weekend. The ice cream is smooth and cold while the waffle is crisp and hot, they contrast perfectly.

good bubble tea Smile Aug 09, 2013

Share tea is another bubble tea chain with many outlets throughout our island. The drink offerings here are pretty standard with typical prices of close to 3 dollars per drink. I chose the mango fruit tea with 80% sugar and black pearls. The drink was nicely flavoured with fruity notes and the pearls were chewy and nice to munch on. The tea was very refreshing being ice cold and deliciously fruity.

Lovely dim sum!! Smile Aug 09, 2013

Canton paradise is relatively expensive as compared to other dim sum places, but the dim sum here is really top notch. I like the classic har gao and siu mai which use fresh prawns that are big and crunchy. The skin is also not too thick and the meat fillings are plentiful. I also like the baked char siew paus which is like a bun with a sweet crunchy topping filled with char siew. Each basket about $5+.
