Ee Mian OK Sep 22, 2013
Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

My friend and I had dinner at this coffee shop. I ordered my dinner from the ban mian stall, opting for the ee mian instead of my usual ban mian for a change. The ee mian noodles is more flavourful than the ordinary ban mian as the ee mian is deep fried before. As I chose the normal soup, this results in the soup being slightly more flavourful than my friend's soup as he had gotten the ban mian. The ingredients like the minced meat and vegetables are quite substantial. I find the minced meat here to be quite tasty as it is soft and it has enough taste. The ban mian costs $3, it is more expensive for tom yum soup ban mian.

Green Tea ice cream OK Sep 22, 2013
Categories : American | Desserts and Cakes | Ice Cream and Gelato

I am quite an avid fan of green tea so even though there are many other choices of ice cream available, I will still settle for green tea ice cream. The scoop is quite generous and I choose to have it without toppings to fully savour the flavour of the green tea ice cream. The green tea ice cream is quite smooth and creamy and it is also rather milky as what the previous reviewers have pointed out. The taste is not as authentic as the green tea ice creams that I have at Japanese restaurants. The green tea taste is not very strong, hence while the ice cream taste is alright, I will not order it again as I have been accustomed to the green tea taste from Japanese green tea ice creams.

Chocolate Origin cake OK Sep 22, 2013
Categories : Bakery | Kids-Friendly

I bought a 6" chocolate cake ($29) from Chocolate Origins for birthday celebration as the birthday person is a huge fan of chocolate. I got the original chocolate which is a safer choice as not many people love dark chocolate.

Do take note that the cake is not really a "cake" because the layers of sponge is very minimal. Bulk of the cake is rich layers of chocolate fudge which makes this cake a really indulgent treat. The chocolate taste is really good, it is very chocolatey, smooth and just melts in your mouth. The sweetness level is just right too, not too cloyingly sweet. That said, as I am not a huge fan of chocolate, one slice is enough for me. Two slices would be an overdose of chocolate. I will recommend chocolate lovers to try it.

Fish Soup OK Sep 22, 2013
Categories : Food Court | Chinese Soup

Recently, I tried out the fish soup from the Fish Delights stall. I chose the fried fish and requested for milk to be added to the soup for extra flavour. The fish soup comes with some lettuce, tomato, seaweed and of course, the fried fish. I also got a bowl of rice to go with the soup. The fried fish is just average. The fish meat is quite little, so I felt like I am eating the fried skin most of the time. The soup is rather tasty, the addition of milk makes the soup really flavourful. I drank quite a lot of the soup and the result is that I felt quite thristy afterwards, which means the soup probably has quite a lot of msg in it. Maybe I will try the sliced fish soup next time instead of the fried fish. The fish soup and rice costs $4.50.

Ajisen Ramen  OK Sep 21, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Ramen | Kids-Friendly

I went with my long time friend to Ajisen Ramen for lunch. We both ordered our own ramen and also got two sides to share, the ageshi tofu and fried chicken. For my ramen, I ordered the spicy miso ramen ($11). The ramen comes with half of an egg, char siu and condiments like black fungus and spring onions. The miso soup taste quite nice and I felt that having spicy miso soup makes the taste of the soup more robust instead of just having it original without chili. The char siu is not as tender as what I had from other ramen places but still passable. I particularly love the noodles here as it is quite springy in texture and not soggy. The sides are quite alright. I love the tofu more than the chicken as the chicken wasn't warm when it was served to us and it has too much batter and very little chicken flesh.
