sakae sushi is my staple whenever I crave for Jap food especially sushi... Not sure if I am bias but I think sakaehas the best quality in terms of food and service. All the staff is very attentive and happy to help. The sushi is absolutely divine! Prices are reasonable as well Of all the sushi chains, I have always felt that sakae was above the norm and set the standards. I really love it especially the salmon belly *drool* their grill cod fish is very well done not too over cooked and generous servings... soft shell crab maki is the best of all.
that’s the thing I like and appreciate about sakae. They always serve generous quantities on top of the good quality food! Give this a try if u is sick of Japanese restaurant with compromised quality or sky high prices. You will not be disappointed! I have tried several Japanese restaurant, high ends and low ends and I always end up back in here. Love it to bits! I think I patronize them on average once a week! Ha-ha...

New Openings  Smile Apr 29, 2013

Was there for their grand opening and luckily we went earlier before the lunch crowd has swamped the place. Overall, the ambience was very cozy and well decorated, and very much decorated differently as compared to the one in purvs street.
The price stated on the menu are very much economically priced and portions are quite generous.Ordered their signature '"Duck Confit", presentation was very nicely done, and the meat itself is well-cooked. You could easily shred the meat with a fork. Pairing up with mash potatoes and chinese mushrooms, this dish is simply delicious.
Next up, "SAVEUR’S PASTA"
A signature of Saveur’s, pasta tossed with chili oil, fine-chopped Japanese konbu & sakura ebi with
minced pork sauce. for just $4.90, it comes with large portion of spaghetti and sparing topping of sakura ebi.
A must visit for french food lovers and a economical place for french cuisine try-outs.

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Multi-Concept

Was around the area and chanced upon this new outlet in the middle of bustling bugis street. this was the first time i see anyone selling fried oreos in singapore. imagine oreo mixed with batter and deep fried to crisp. as you take a bite into it, the ever so familiar taste of oreo burst out in sweetness blending with the batter. an overall refreshing experience and would highly recommend it to anyone.

special pizza Smile Apr 29, 2013

The staffs were friendly & prompt in their services. What amazes me was that they even took extra effort to clean & wipe the chairs for the next customer, including the baby chair.

The pizza serving was relatively small in size though. My wife & I were hesistating between ordering a medium or large pizza & we were glad we ordered the large one. The crust is thinner than the usual pizza as it is an italian pizza, so it is less filling than the usual ones from Pizza Hut etc. But I much prefer the thin crust served by spizza as doesn't taste as "doughy". However, the ingredients found on the pizza were quite limited though, so felt it was expensive.

Drinks whilst, a coca-cola costs $4.50 while a bottle of beer costs $8, so I rather go for the beer. Coffee is inexpensive.

Authentic Chicken Rice Smile Mar 21, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Food Court | Noodles

This chicken rice shop never fail to impress me during all my visits here! I love to have their roasted chicken rice set which goes along with a nicely presented roasted chicken meat and a bowl of simple vegetable soup.

The rice is indeed very fragrant, not too sticky with the perfect texture for this local delight. The chicken meat is very juicy and love those well roasted chicken skin on all the individual pieces of chickens, which are also slight crispy as well. The added garnishes, parsley and thinly slices of cucumbers make the dish looks more presentable and delicious to go along with the chicken meat as well.

But not to forget their must-eat minced garlic and the chicken rice chilli sauce, which certainly bring you to another higher level of enjoyment when having this dish here. Buy back is also welcome here and it will taste equally delicious when you bring it back to enjoy with your loves one.
