All along i always like Sushi Tei for affordable and yummy japanese food. Last night i was at Thomson Plaza branch with my family for my dad's birthday dinner.

Thanks to the $40 vouchers which i redeemed from OpenRice + the $60 vouchers from my membership card ( it's great i can combine all together to use it ), i saved a lot for last night dinner. Only have to top up $23!

As you can see from the picture, i tried having this crab fried rice for the first time and it's good! Good flavour and quite enjoyable. I shared this so i won't overeat. Haha!

I love yellowtail and the ones at Sushi Tei never disappoint. Last night got a platter which consist of salmom, tuna and yellowtail.

The sushi rolls and chicken skewers and other items were great. My grandma was enjoying herself which really delighted us to see her happy with the food =)

Overall it's a great place for dinner regardless whether you are dining alone, with friends or family.

Restaurant Week Lunch Smile Mar 17, 2014

Categories : Italian | European | Hotel | Restaurant | Pasta

It's the Restaurant Week and time to go trying out the lovely menus being offered. This time i opt for a weekend lunch at Gaia Ristorante. Been wanting to come here and Restaurant Week is a great chance for me to try out the food.

This restaurant is awarded with a DiningCity Star so there will be an additional charge of S$15++ for lunch which i find it's very worth it for the quality of food and service that i am getting.

I actually reached earlier but they were having a staff briefing and i couldn't go to my table yet so they kindly let me rest at the outdoor lounge area and very promptly on the fan plus offered me a glass of iced water.

I was pleasantly surprised by the nice environment when i was being shown to my table. Aircon was just nice, tables are spaced out nicely and good attentive service by the restaurant staff.

While waiting for the yummy food to be served, i ordered a glass of red wine and enjoy the complimentary crackers and bread.

Grilled Hokkaido scallops, saffron cream and coffee powder was the first item on the menu. This was such a great start to the meal! Very fresh scallops which was grilled to perfection and i love the saffron cream. I didn't want to waste it so i used the bread to soak up every single bit of it.

Next was Button-shaped ravioli filled with ricotta cheese, tomato puree and basil. Another delightful dish! I enjoyed the ravioli both on it's own or with the tomato puree and basil. Simply love the cheese in the ravioli.

For the main, both my friend and i chose the same thing - New Zealand spring lamb : Slow cooked lamb rack, celeriac puree and sautéed bok-choy. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this when you dine here. So tender and it has the right ratio of fats and lean meat. Every bite was super shiok to the max and how i wish they can include another piece! Haha!

Dessert was poached pear in red wine, yoghurt and star anise sauce, ginger bread chocolate ice cream & tiramisu cloud. This segment didn't impress me too much though but no complaints.

So if you haven't plan where to go for Restaurant Week, come to Gaia at Goodwood Park!

Bak Chor Mee

Bak Chor Mee

Any bak chor mee lovers should know about this legendary stall. I used to go often with my family or with one of my aunt who like to bring us here. It's been quite long since my last visit and last month i was quite glad to be able to try it again since i was nearby collecting something.

First time ever i had this for DINNER! Queue was reasonable but still had to wait cause everyone was like getting 2 - 4/5 bowls of noodles. But worth the wait for my yummy bowl of noodles!

I decided to order the smallest serving $5 one. I think i took a pretty good drool worthy picture of my bak chor mee. I requested for extra chilli and vinegar and it's SO SHIOK!! Simply enjoy every mouthful of it. Fresh ingredients really enhanced the enjoyment of my bak chor mee.

I love set dinner when i'm feeling hungry and want a bit of everything. And looking through the menu, i'm so tempted to order everything! Haha.

In the end, i chose Asari Tonyu Soba set $23.80 which consist of chilled soba, clam soup, braised pork belly rice, salmon sashimi, chawammushi and dessert of the day.

Sounds good from the above description!! I was super full after my meal. The food here hardly disappoint and is tasty! Good choice for Japanese food.

When it comes to japanese food, Watami is one of my favourite choice and it has a branch at Junction 8 Bishan so it's great to have one that's quite near me!

I was pretty hungry for this particular visit as i was out early getting errands done so the moment i reached, i immediately placed an order for Hiroshima Style Spicy Noodle with Pork Bone $13.30. The broth and ramen are served separately and you enjoyed slowly by dipping the noodles into the broth. I enjoyed this very much. Nice texture for the noodles and broth is nice with a slightly salty flavorful taste.

Don't know why but i was still hungry so i ordered one of my favourite Nankotsu Kushi $5.80. Very tender meat and i love to chew on the soft bones! Very shiok!!
