Lunch  Smile Jun 19, 2014

Was wondering what this unit was going to be when i saw the whole shop being renovated. Finally on their opening day i happened to be around the area and was pleasantly surprised to see Nakhon! Very happy to see a branch that's near me =)

So when a friend jio me for lunch, i gladly accepted since it also walking distance for me from work. They start on the dot at 12pm so no harm going just a bit earlier to get a table.

For both us, we SUPER love tomyum soup so it's a must order and most of the time, we each had one bowl. Haha!

We also decided to order another 2 dishes to share. So we had Kang Kong in Thai style and Phad Thai.

For the kang kong, i usually had it in belachan but i was quite interested to try out thai style and it turns out to be really nice. Since it's thai style, i guess they used more ingredients like fish sauce, etc. Enjoy this while it's hot and it's pretty shiok.

Phad Thai was good too and mixed everything together, drizzle the lime over it equal a plate of happiness waiting for you to enjoy. It was a droolicious good lunch! Can't wait to go back again.

It was a rare weekday morning that i get to hang out in town! Had some time to spare before i start my busy day and i wanted somewhere quiet so Becasse was my top choice since i was at Ion. It was a perfect quiet surrounding

Saw egg royale on the menu and opt for that plus a flat white to complete my meal. It was a nice and quiet morning without the crowd, feels like i own the whole place.

I was served a glass of iced water and my flat white while i wait for my food. I like the little heart coffee art (it's always nice to enjoy looking at one).

The egg royale came looking really nice but first impression was the portion seems small. Maybe i am used to seeing 2 muffins topped with individual egg. Becasse version was everything one single muffin. Luckily it tasted good so it makes up for the small portion. And poached eggs were well done and i was so happy to see the oozing egg yolk full of goodness!

Overall the food didn't disappoint but still a bit bothered by their not so big portion (to me). May come back to try their main course to compare.

Heard so much about this place and when my foodie friend Eileen decided to plan a second visit to this cafe, i was happy to follow =)

The exterior of the cafe is very interesting with an old chinese style medical hall outlook, you may walk by without realizing it's a cafe if you don't pay attention.

When i reached the place, it was a open concept layout. Didn't pay attention if there was any aircon but fans power were still acceptable. For me who sweat easily, it was still ok. We chose to sit on the high chairs (more privacy too as we took the ones near the entrance ) as the rest of the available tables seems kind of cramped together.

We started off with some drinks first while looking through the menu. Beer for me and coke for my friend! We decided to get 2 items to share.

Brie & Ham Sandwich $15 - The bread was quite hard to cut it into half so we ended up tearing apart ( bit by bit) but i find it rather enjoyable in this way. One side was drizzled with olive oil which i like and the other side had pesto on it. Brie and ham combination can't go wrong. Yummy!

Chicken Breast & Avocado Salad $13 - This may look boring at first glance. Lots of vege and the chicken looks dry but once you mixed everything together with the dressing, it was ok.

Overall it's quite a nice charming place with decent food. I don't mind coming back again =)

Tom Yum U-Mian Smile Mar 24, 2014

I frequent this stall at this coffeeshop for their sliced fish bee hoon soup. It's only recently then i decided to try out their u-mian. I opt for tom yum soup base which turns out to be pretty good.

For $3.50, it was quite a big portion and u-mian can be rather filling actually! I like the tom yum soup, quite appetizing and overall flavor is good. As usual they are quite generous with vegetables. Yes to a more healthy intake!

And i like the fact that they are not stingy with the small cutted red chili. I love the spiciness and this is a super plus point.

BBQ Beef Smile Mar 20, 2014

I've actually not been to PasarBella yet but i was quite happy to know they are now at the event plaza at MBS!! Recently went to take a look on a weekday after work and it's nice with a great view! But what caught my attention was the smell of bbq food from James' Butchery & Co!

Saw the chef bbq-ing huge pieces of beef steaks! Super shiok by just looking at it and after a short while, i was starting to drool and couldn't resist but to place an order despite me being quite full as i had other stuff already.

For $29.90, you get 200 gram of bbq beef together with some salad! Drizzle it with some brown sauce and you may start your bbq beef feast. I must say this is pretty awesome especially certain pieces which has more fats on it, very shiok with every single bite! I was enjoying this rather slowly and despite being cold for the last few pieces, the taste still remain decent.

This is worth a try when you are here especially for meat lovers!
