Dinner Smile Mar 22, 2014

Last night made an impromptu decision to go Toa Payoh for yong tau foo dinner since my dad has good reviews for this stall. It was located at this small coffeeshop and there was already a short queue when i reach.

First impression was the ingredients were all nicely and neatly arranged and it looks very fresh. I was actually not very hungry yet but it does open up my appetite a bit as i choose what i want.

Didn't take a lot for this one so i just took dou miao, fried beancurd skin, beef ball, toufu with meat, yam, bitter gourd, cuttle fish and added bee hoon. Would love to add more but this was what i could handle last night.

First mouthful nothing special yet but as i slowly eat, it actually got tastier. The ingredients are fresh and that's very important. The chiili and sweet sauce are not too bad and compliment everything well. I heard from my dad if you like the yellow bean in the soup, you can just go and request for more.

Overall we spent about $17 for 4 bowls of yong tau foo. I don't mind coming if i am around the area =)

Char Kway Teow Smile Mar 21, 2014

Haven't had char kway teow for quite long actually and recently had a craving so decided to have it for lunch!

I usually like mine without the cockles, add more chilli and black sweet sauce! More vegetables too if i met a nice hawker who is generous with the portion! =)  This stall served pretty decent char kway teow. Enough wok hei flavour and it's a not too bad portion for a $2.50 serving!

But for my personal liking, i don't mind having more black sweet sauce!

It was after a long tiring and yet fun walk at the i Light Marina Bay event, both my friend and i was getting tired and so we were craving for truffle fries since we ended our night at MBS. First choice that came to my mind was Au Chocolat!

Had their truffle fries once but ate very little plus it was for sharing with a group of friends so not very shiok. This time is different cause can slowly enjoy it with just another friend only. Sorry if i sound greedy but i was very hungry after all the walking.

From a distance i could already smell the fragrance coming from the truffle fries and i will keep checking if it's our's! Haha. Au Chocolat version is good! No wonder it's so popular. Fries are of the right thickness and i like the dipping sauce that comes with it - bbq and mayonnaise!

We even shared a pot of Berry Wonderful Tea which was a pretty good choice if you like the fruity kind of tea. It's something i don't mind ordering again for my next visit =)

BBQ Beef Smile Mar 20, 2014

I've actually not been to PasarBella yet but i was quite happy to know they are now at the event plaza at MBS!! Recently went to take a look on a weekday after work and it's nice with a great view! But what caught my attention was the smell of bbq food from James' Butchery & Co!

Saw the chef bbq-ing huge pieces of beef steaks! Super shiok by just looking at it and after a short while, i was starting to drool and couldn't resist but to place an order despite me being quite full as i had other stuff already.

For $29.90, you get 200 gram of bbq beef together with some salad! Drizzle it with some brown sauce and you may start your bbq beef feast. I must say this is pretty awesome especially certain pieces which has more fats on it, very shiok with every single bite! I was enjoying this rather slowly and despite being cold for the last few pieces, the taste still remain decent.

This is worth a try when you are here especially for meat lovers!

Wings Galore Smile Mar 18, 2014

It was last year when i won a pair of invites to Daniel Food Diary x Wing Stop event when they opened their first store here in Singapore. Was pretty fun cause first time i've attended such a food event.

We got to try everything on the menu which is really awesome but because it was last year, i can't remember all the details for every flavour of the wings. But 2 things left an impression on me.

Atomic Wings - I still remembered there was a challenge during the event for eating the atomic wings! This is the spicy version for the wings! I sure sweat when i eat this but i must say it's pretty good! Especially for someone like me who love spicy food. It's actually shiok and i miss it enough to plan a second visit back for it.

Iced Lemon Tea - Was very surprised when i took my first sip! Not too sweet and refreshing. Definitely recommend this if you are getting a drink at Wing Stop.
