Ice Cream Log Cake Smile Jan 03, 2014

I had a Christmas Party and the host ordered Swensen Ice Cream chocolate log cake. It was about a 1.5 kg cake. When the cake was served, it was still hard and had not melted. Once it was cut, the chocolate had made it easy to eat. The ice cream was not too cold to cause sensitive toothache. It cake was not dry but it was perfect as ice cream. In fact, I did not see that I was eating cake. I was more of eating ice cream. It was a wonderful ice cream log cake.

Christmas Log Cakes Smile Dec 24, 2013

The office had ordered 2 log cakes of 2 kg. They are chocolate cake and salted caramel cake. They chocolate cake is verynrich with chocolate while the salted caramel tasted not salted, instead it was very soft nd not sweet. I prefer the salted caramel than the chocalte cake as the taste meet the healthy level of not sweet, not salty. Afer eating I can still go for more pieces. I enjoyed the cake. Both cakes cost $34 each.

I attended a financial talk and the host had catered Food Haven for the refreshment.

The setup of the refreshment table was neat and decorated with a mini Christmas tree. At the start of the dinning, guests were served a bowl of salad with tomatoes and lettuce.
Next to it was the fried rice. The fried rice was well fried as it was not oily or hard. It was fried with beans and egg. The next item was the Oven baked rosemary chicken. The chicken was tender and the size of the chicken was of the right portion. The host was generous to order Baked Salon with herb. The salmon was baked till golden. However, there was no sauce to go with the salmon. Next to it was the broccoli, cauliflower with golden mushroom. The broccoli and cauliflower were fresh. The next meat item was the stirred fried black pepper beef with capsicum. This was my best dish. The beef was tender was it was not cut thick. The other fried items were fried prawn and scallop nugget. I did not enjoy the fried items as the cook had used too much of flour to thicken the prawn and nugget and at the end, I found myself eating flour rather than the meat.
The last item was the hot sweet potato dessert which was cooked with gingo nut.

I enjoyed the meal.

I attended an event and the host served the guests with tasty canapés. The catering was from Oh’s Farming Catering. I had mushroom topped on French loaf bread. The mushroom was juicy and as the juice flowed to the bread. This made the bread soft.
The next item was the salmon tart. The salmon was fresh and the tart was neither soft as it did not crash once bite.

The 3rd item was the soba with fresh prawn. It was unusual to have soba served as one of the canapés but the catering was able to do it by using a deep spoon.

The 4th item was the tomatoes purees filled on top on the mini pasty base. The tomatoes puree was delicious.

The 5th item was the fruit tarts. There were 2 different types – berry tarts and kiwi tarts. There was no layer of gelatin so I could taste the freshness of the fruits.

The last item was the cookie. The cookie was rich was cinnamon. As I did not like the strong cinnamon, I could not finish the cookie.
The whole, I enjoyed the food very much.

I attended an event on 23 Nov and the organizer had catered refreshment from Chilli Api. The food display impressed me with the 2-coloured tone table skipping ie black and red which matched the venue background.

It was a simple refreshment with noodle with fried stripped egg, chicken wing, carrot cake with yam filling, egg tarts, water kueh with yam and éclair.

I enjoyed the noodle as I could see the food that I was eating. The carrot cake with yam was also good as it was not oily. The egg tarts was rich with egg filling. It was as good as the Marcau egg tarts. The water kuey with yam was exceptionally different as it had filling with yam and mushroom. The éclair was also chilling and not melting. The only item which I did not like was the chicken wing as the wing was too skinny and had no meat.
