I have purchased fish soup from this stall before. There's always a queue of office ladies who would buy based on the perception that fish soup is healthier. But it depends on the ingredients that go into it, like milk, salt etc.

I have tasted the fish soup once and I never buy from him again. Mostly because its very ordinary tasting and nothing fantastic about it. And worst of all, when I tried to scoop up more soya sauce and chili, the stall owner stopped me and said soya sauce and chili were not free, and forbid me from taking any more chili.

I find that quite unreasonable.

Cafe cum Donut Shop Smile Mar 09, 2011

I was here last year, because I have to deliver some documents to a customer of mine with my friend.

Feeling famished and yet because it's quite near to lunch time, we just grab two donuts to ourselves and sat ourselves at the cafe. They do allow you to seat yourself just by ordering donuts and thus no service charge.

I ate the white chocolate donut and also the choco-filled donut. They both taste good, which is typically of Donut Factory quality.

Looks like donuts are here to stay and more than just a fad. smile

Steamboat and sushi buffet Smile Mar 09, 2011

I was at Sakae Sushi mid 2010, when they had the steamboat and sushi buffet. Sushi buffet is as usual, you are only allowed to eat the low priced plates. And not the higher priced red plates.

However, I do find the steamboat very nice, because they use the Shoyu Stock with dried Konbu sticks. It's really savory. And when you put the scallop and flower crab in, it tastes really good!

And of course you can also cook your beef shabu shabu style, or just leave it in the broth and scoop it up later and enjoy at your leisure.

I did notice that steamboat buffet customers have to be seated in the far corner of the restaurant. Not that I have anything to complain, I prefer to be seated in a quiet corner, rather than in the middle of noisy families with boisterous children. tongue

We love Sakae Sushi and have eaten here, at ICON village and also the one at Bukit Batok etc. We even had the steamboat at West Coast.

Here, we just ordered some sushi off the conveyor belt. Usual include the spicy shrimp mayonnaise sushi, Tomaki, California Maki, and Ebi sushi.

Then we ordered the set meals. I have the rice set with chicken cutlet and tempera. My friend had the Unagi rice.

It's simple hearty Japanese fare. Think most people like it, though it's hidden in a quiet corner below the escalator.

I patronized this outlet regularly, ate their thai buffet, so good but so short-lived, and also their ala-carte items.

Notable nice things about the buffet before it was pulled is the LIVE dessert stations. They actually have the thai people there to cook and prepare the Mango Rice, Ice Popsicle, there. And the pumpkin with cream is really good too.

And then you also have chefs preparing the BBQ shrimp, the Tom Yum soup and Mango Salad. The mango salad here is spicy, as for Tom Yum, they can prepare two styles. Singapore style or Bangkok Style. Bangkok style just meant they add coconut milk, and more chili oil in. NICE!

And then coming back to the ala-carte items. I really love Morning Glory, the steamed fish in lime sauce and OF COURSE the pierce de resistance, the black pepper crab. Highly recommended!

But be careful of your budget, it 's very easy to get carried here, and you end up $140 for two person. Isn't that very ex for thai food?
