Ice Milk Tea (S3.80), and Ice Lemon Honey ($3.00).

Ordered one of their dim sum items, Prawn Dumpling ($3.80).. Nothing special...

Single Roast Duck ($8.80). This actually comes with a rice for a single pax, but crew said it's ok if we want to skip the rice, since we are only keen in trying the duck meat only. Anyway, their duck meat is pretty good.

Also ordered the Canton Chicken Hotpot Set ($22.80), which can accommodate up to two stomachs tongue Vegetable and meat are not re-fillable, but gravy is exceptional. I really love their initial thick and sweet gravy! It is re-fillable, but they simply pour boiling water, which spoil the sweetness...

Healthy eating OK Nov 10, 2013

There is this spacious area outside The Garden, which I believe can be very relaxing in a cooling day, and of course, at night! It actually overlook a big patch of greens, perhaps mini forest look-alike tongue

Interior of The Garden, where this big tree adds on a special ambience to the whole place smile

One special thing about this place, is that they focus more on conscious dining, as already indicated at their signage. For selected dishes you ordered, you can actually refer to their indicators!

Breadroll was served without ordering. Freshly-baked bread, with some sort of a sour-cream dipping sauce. But I vaguely heard it consists of yoghurt?

Pan Seared Scallops ($20.00), with asparagus, truffle and mushroom vinaigrette. I do love the presentation, and scallops are squishy in my mouth too!

Wild Mushroom soup ($18.00), with boudin blanc, shimeji mushroom, and leek ravioli. Taste of herbs, and it is a "clean" soup, which doesn't seems to contain much/any MSG.

Roasted Chicken Roulade ($32.00), with green pea puree, asparagus, wild mushroom, and chicken jus. Presentation is good, but failed in taste. Chicken within is hard to chew, and pretty tasteless though.

Coriander Marinated Chicken Breast ($28.00) wrapped in whole wheat tortilla, with carrot-mango slaw and citrus yoghurt. This is also the only dish that has the indicator, statign contains ingredients that help to lower cholesterol level.

This is better than the chicken roulade, and there is this grilled scent from the tortilla. A bundle of carrots, with a few pieces of meat in it. But hey, I love their root vegetable crisps, as though it's LAYS?!

Another thing about The Garden is that you can see chef preparing your food, more like an open-kitchen type?

Unique burger and worth a visit! OK Oct 08, 2013

I am so in love with their innovative design of the burger!

Waiting time is longer, if you are comparing with other common fastfood outlets. But you can be assured of freshly packed burger smile

Four simple steps to order your paw burger. First, decide on your meat, followed by the flavor of the bun, and accompanied sauce. The fourth step would be deciding on your drink, if you went for the combo set which comes with fries too.

Karaage Cripsy Chicken with yam paw and golden cheese sauce, normal fries and brown rice green tea. Yam taste is not that strong, but fluffy to chew on, and sauce is drippy,

Another Karaage Cripsy Chicken with curry paw and honey mustard sauce, normal fries and lemon tea. Fries are pretty good. They seem to have it peeled straight from the potato, as there is a strong taste of potato and quite mushy smile

Bun is fluffy, and meat is juicy, I kinda like it during the initial bites. Subsequently, it does feel pretty normal, or rather loosing the "wow" factor in the taste.

Dim sum at Marriott Hotel OK Sep 24, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Hotel | Dim Sum | Seafood

For details, please visit http://www.foodesteem.blogspot.sg/2013/09/wan-hao-chinese-restaurant.html

Located in Marriott Hotel itself, I went to try its Dim sum Buffet. I reserved the second seating which is at 1315 hours. It seems like there is only an hour plus to order food before its kitchen accept last ordering before closing.

It has 3 sets of menu, which are the set meals, dim sum buffet, and ala-carte.

The whole list of dim sum buffet menu. Looks quite extensive. One person is around 33++ excluding teas or drinks. That totaled up to $42 nett per pax.

Jellyfish, Teochew style marinated Duck wings, and Drunken prawns. Jellyfish is a cold dish, and I think its cripsy. But for the other two, I am a little disappointed.

Claypot stewed diced Chicken with garlic, spring onions and dried chilis. Overall to say, I don't quite like it. The dimsums are generally not bad though.

Baked Cripsy Honey-glazed BBQ Pork Bun is one of my favorite! It is something like the common char siew buns, but with honey seared on top and sent for baking. Yums!

Steamed Rainbow Egg Custard Bun is another of my favorite. Although I don't see any sign of rainbow colors at all, even after I stepped out of the restaurant to look at the sky, its custard is piping hot and flowing out like it just melted.

Steamed Prawns with Glass noodles and garlic. Nothing to bring up your excitement level about. We also had the Steamed Sea Perch Belly with eggplant and black bean sauce. Fish is fresh, but a little oily though.

Baked Pork Trotters with cheese and thyme. Waited from start of our meal to end, before it was sent to our table. And expecting it to be delicious since its baking time is exceptionally long, I was dumbfounded. We basically had a bite of the meat, and left the whole dish hanging there.

Egg Tarts are in mini sizes, and is not bad.

Desserts are Pumpkin with Mandarin Orange Peel & Sago. Orange taste quite strong, but as I have a disliking for pumpkin, this dish never improves my condition for it. Second is Herbal Jelly with Honey syrup. Third is Sweetened Cream of Red Bean Paste. Expect nothing more than just a creamy version of our usual red bean soup.

Service is not bad, as the crew is always on the lookup to refill your teapot, and clearing empty plates to clear your table for more dishes. They are organized with their orders, and will informed you what are the dishes yet to be served, and if there is any delay to serving the dishes. They have a polite attitude and with smiles, but dim sum quality is a little disappointing for some, but generally still quite acceptable.

What I like about them is that they will try to maximize their diner's chance of getting seats by making adjustments to their occupied tables.

Iced Lemon Tea ($3.50), and Ribena Lemon Twist ($4.50) which seems like soda and ribena? Quite a refreshing drink for me!

Cold Cuts ($15.00) consisting of Baguette, German Salami, Chorizo, and Parma Ham. Not a really a fan of this dish, as it tasted a little weird to me.

Crispy Chicken Winglets with Chilli Dip ($8.50). We had this cleaned up because their winglets are quite tasty.
Baked Portobello Mushroom, Balsamic Reduction ($10.00). I find it quite tasteless though...

Confit of Duck Leg, Mash, Aragula Salad ($19.50). I like their duck leg, as it is cooked till soft and flavorful.

Baked Lamb Ribs, Cucumber Yoghurt Salad, Fries ($24.00). Yummy lamb ribs, but there's a lot of fats underneath the skin, and thus quite oily.

For the desserts, they are not listed in the menu, but browse-able from the counter display! Red Velvet Cake ($4.80) which is usually $6.80, and Triple Chocolate Cake ($6.80).

Crew are friendly and brought along their smiles whenever diners asked for assistance. Food is generally normal, where it can be delicious, but not health-conscious type. Otherwise, it is quite yummy! In case you are wondering what's nice, you might want to try their Sake Mussels, which is a dish that appears in most tables!
