I love the grand setting with a little bit of colonial of the exterior, and the grass patch which covers almost the entire stairway to the entrance. On the left side, just before walking straight to the reception counter, there is a corridor showcasing their cakes and pastries. Took on the 3-course ($66.00) dinner menu, for a swift and decisive action to settle my growling stomach! The first course was the Cream of Pumpkin and Carrot with Garlic Croutons Soup. I would conclude the soup is too sweet to my liking, although it is thick and creamy. Diners, whose taste favors pumpkin and carrot combination, might find this soup a great start to the meal. Second course was Roasted Peppered Chicken with Mixed Vegetables and Baby Potato. Looking juicy from the outside, but inside was pretty dry. An alternative to the Roasted Peppered Chicken, was the Oven Baked Seabass with Mixed Vegetables and Baby Potato with Creole Tomato Sauce. In my opinion, a dish of fish fails when the fishy taste is still there, and become slightly above average of my bearable level. This dish apparently falls into this category. Though not overcooked, but I rather it be overcooked than being too fishy. Chocolate Brownies with Vanilla Ice Cream, for dessert. This was the one and only option, unlike the first and second course. Brownie is a little dry and sticky to your teeth as you bite, but smear with the vanilla ice cream, and it should work fine. Service is commendable, but perhaps food can be improved for a better rating from diners. I wouldn't make another visit to Tablescape, partly due to inaccessibility, and mainly on the quality of food. Miska Cafe is one of the affordable cafe in Quayside Isle, as what I've briefly researched, besides Kith Cafe. In addition, Miska Cafe is set to be the concept of Mediterranean, offering fresh with quality ingredients. Drink: Strawberry Banana Smoothie ($9.00). Expensive smoothie... Side: Chicken Wings ($11.00), which is a 6 pieces wing with barbeque sauce one the side. The wings are not bad, pretty crispy and juicy. Mains: Miska Breakfast ($18.00). Eggs are not perfectly done in terms of presentation, and rest of the food are pretty normal. Mains: Miska Platter ($18.00). Combo platter served with fried duo eggs (selected scrambled eggs), halloumi cheese, sausage, turkey ham (switched from beef bacon), tomato, baked beans, mini pita and potato. Had a hard time deciding on the food, because we went on a Monday, and most of their items are not in stock yet! It was quite an terrible experience as crew was not sure of what was not available and other details, thus making some detours to enquire with another.. I can feel the disappointment and irritated mood setting in me. For more details, please visit http://foodesteem.blogspot.sg/2014/03/mama-panda-kitchen.html When River Safari first opened its doors to public, no doubt pictures of panda pau were running hysterically in instagram. I find it pretty cute, and decided to queue for it, where the queue was pretty "short"... for a normal working day, Monday... They have two flavors for the panda pau, which are red bean and chocolate custard. Red Bean Panda Pau ($2.90/ea, $11.50 for 4). Expect nothing, but a cute panda pau, with normal serving and the usual taste of red bean we have in coffeeshops. Ordered the Crispy Chicken with salt and pepper ($6.90). Chicken meat is quite tender, and not bad though. Perhaps one of the few dishes worth ordering? Longan Beancurd ($2.90), and Mango Pudding ($2.90). Longan Beancurd taste of almond, and comes with two longans residing at the bottom. Beancurd quality is firm, unlike those we usually have.. erm... not to my liking... Mango Pudding is average too, but at least better than Longan Beancurd. Sweeter? Personally, food here is pretty average, and not worth the wait if it’s going to take ages for one to be even near the ordering counter. The only thing that might interests one, could be the panda pau which just seems to be an overpriced normal red bean pau. For details, please visit http://foodesteem.blogspot.sg/2014/01/imperial-treasure-steamboat-restaurant.html Before anything else, laid before us are these 12 sauces ($2.00/pax). Not really sure what are all these individual sauces, but they will keep on reminding you to scoop the sauces, as they will be removing it away.. Sounds like we don't get the chance to refill, though we still can... We had two soup bases, which are pork bone and chicken soup. Some of the items we ordered from their ala-carte menu. Most we ordered were in a portion, such as Japanese Mushroom ($5.00), Kurobuta Prok Belly ($12.00), Australian Beef Brisket ($18.00), Luncheon Meat ($5.00), Fresh Pork Ball ($8.00) and Fish Ball, Shrimp Wanton ($8.00), Silky Beancurd ($3.50), and Assorted Vegetable ($6.00). Half Drunken Chicken ($20.00). We were "awed with surprise" as we didn't expect half a chicken to be this size... Thus, we actually ordered another half to make up for this insufficient amount of meat... Food is barely a pass, though crew service is still satisfactory. Pork Bone soup is tastier than the other, but quality of the soup changed when the drunken chicken together with the alcoholic marination was thrown in... Our total bill came to about $230, which I felt can be well-spent in other places with nicer food. For details, please visit http://foodesteem.blogspot.sg/2013/12/food-at-ikea-singapore.html Each time IKEA is mentioned, Food at IKEA just appears instantly in my head, and more distinctly, the swedish meatballs! Used to visit the Tampines outlet regularly for their breakfast, because I thought it was so delicious and cheap. Thus, for the first time, I went there for dinner, and it was surprisingly a little disappointing from the breakfast I had before... Poached Salmon ($7.90). Salmon was alright but a little overcooked, and potatoes were hard and tasteless even when smeared with the sauce which I like. Spring Chicken with Broccoli for around $11+, if I'm right. It was half spring chicken to be exact, but definitely more than enough to keep me full for hours. Normal-sized chicken wings, but I love it! It's so yummy, and for a moment I thought to myself, "I should have just ordered this as my main!". Overall, Food at IKEA is great for some bites, such as the hotdog buns, or supposingly "light food" to fill up your stomach for awhile, such as the swedish meatballs and the chicken wings. But to fully enjoy your dinner, perhaps somewhere outside IKEA would be better. For details, please visit http://foodesteem.blogspot.sg/2013/12/food-at-ikea-singapore.html Recommended Dish(es):
