I have got the sudden urge to try out their stir-fried beef hor fun as it looks yummy! But my boy forgot to state "dry" when ordering. And so, we get the "wet" type of hor fun! Nevertheless, I didnt regret eating it! So tasty and chewy with loads of beef slices! The gravy isnt too thick too. The green and red peppers are soaked into the gravy and is tasty. Even i, not a red/green peppers lover, willing to try it after much persuasion from my boy and i like it! smile I saw a few people around my table ordering the "dry" kind and i figured it must be good too. Will definitely get back to try their "dry" type!

Potion bar at Nostalgia Hotel  Smile Jul 01, 2011

Categories : Bars/Lounges | Hotel | Buffet

A place situated in tiong bahru, most of us will missed it as big pots of plants were used to surround the alfresco dining area. Thus there were not many customers. And the area weren't brightly lit at night. That is why i choose to dine inside the hotel, at the hotel lobby instead.

Although the area inside was small, it was nicely decorated, with east meets west kind of setting.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered a 4-course dinner set- appetiser, main, a drink and a dessert of the day. We also added in sauteed shrimps in creamy garlic herbs. They were attentive as in they know exactly when to serve your next dish and will wait till you finished up your appetiser before serving your main, same goes for desserts.

My friend's appetiser is a big bowl of salad and mine is a Focaccia- olive oil with some tomato diced on a bread. The salad has a generous of crusty bread and baked ham on top of it and the veggie were very fresh and crunchy too. The focaccia were delicious too! The bread were toasted just nice, not that hard, and the juicy tomato goes really well with the olive oil and bread.

The sauteed shrimps taste really good! Shrimps were fresh, plump, and chewy and goes really well with the gravy. Plus, it is a bit spicy too! I like and it is a must-try! tongue

Next come the grilled chicken chop which i find it average. But i love the plating- love the cute mini "carrot". smile

I love my desserts, whether it is in terms of the presentation and the taste. Colourful enough to make one happy. There are a few flavours of coated ice-cream- Vanilla, Mango, strawberry, mint (my favourite!). They are so considerate to put in some fruits so that you can switch to eating the fruits if you ever feel too cold eating the ice-cream.

They have a bar lounge too where you can chill out with friends/ colleagues after a hearty meal! smile

As i love to eat Xiao Long Bao a lot, i search around the Rasapura food court and saw that the oriental chinese cuisine offers Xiao Long Bao.

So, I ordered a tray of it and i must say, the food at MBS doesnt comes cheap, even at food court. I also order crispy fried beancurd roll as it is also one of my favourite too!

The Xiao Long Bao doesnt taste as good as i expect it to be. But overall still edible. If only it could be juicy enough.

The crispy fried beancurd roll tasted heaven. Crispy and the fillings are full! But oily as even bite i take, the oil spills out and i dirtied my top. sad But still, i highly recommend it! Do be extra careful when you eat. haha! tongue

Breakfast Smile Jun 30, 2011

We had a show to catch and as we reached earlier than expected, we decided to go have our breakfast first.

I ordered a toasted bread with butter and kaya in it! It is really nice, with the bread toasted just nice and crispy. Every bite i took, the butter and kaya sauce oozed out. This shows that they put generous amount of butter and kaya which i like, although sinful! haha!

My boy ordered a cuppa coffee and half boiled eggs which i love!! I love the kopitiam style of eggs! Washes the egg yolks and whites down my throat could be more better for a sunday breakfast! (: We Ordered other food too from another stall as we sit back and relax, while waiting for our show. (:

Soup restaurant Smile Jun 30, 2011

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Chinese Soup

Been wanting to try this restaurant as i heard many positive comments on the Samsui Ginger Chicken. True enough, it didnt disappoint me! Meant to serve cold, the white chicken dipped with the ginger sauce tasted like heaven! Perfect match!! The boneless chicken make it a plus point!

I ordered the Double Boiled Waisan & Ginseng Roots with Chicken Soup to relieve stress. The flavourful soup proves that many efforts and time is used to boiled the soup. I cant finish the soup as the ginseng taste is too strong- I dont really like ginseng. But i believe many will agree with me that the soup tasted good. Only negative point is that the bits of chickens in the soup is too hard. Not very pleasant to chew on it too.

The claypot tofu is a must-try for tofu lover like me! Tofu were so soft and the gravy is thick and nice, though i dont exactly know what contains inside the gravy. haha! tongue But i really love the tofu a lot and am surprised why is it not included under popular dishes in their website. shocked

We ordered their fried shrimp too! Quite nice with a tinge of sweetness, crispy and chewy too! (:

I love love love the chicken and claypot tofu and would definitely go back again!smile
