Soup restaurant Smile Jun 30, 2011

Been wanting to try this restaurant as i heard many positive comments on the Samsui Ginger Chicken. True enough, it didnt disappoint me! Meant to serve cold, the white chicken dipped with the ginger sauce tasted like heaven! Perfect match!! The boneless chicken make it a plus point!

I ordered the Double Boiled Waisan & Ginseng Roots with Chicken Soup to relieve stress. The flavourful soup proves that many efforts and time is used to boiled the soup. I cant finish the soup as the ginseng taste is too strong- I dont really like ginseng. But i believe many will agree with me that the soup tasted good. Only negative point is that the bits of chickens in the soup is too hard. Not very pleasant to chew on it too.

The claypot tofu is a must-try for tofu lover like me! Tofu were so soft and the gravy is thick and nice, though i dont exactly know what contains inside the gravy. haha! tongue But i really love the tofu a lot and am surprised why is it not included under popular dishes in their website. shocked

We ordered their fried shrimp too! Quite nice with a tinge of sweetness, crispy and chewy too! (:

I love love love the chicken and claypot tofu and would definitely go back again!smile

yummy chopsticks Smile Jun 30, 2011

Went to expo to have our lunch after my exams ended. A time when my appetite is good especially after my papers, i ordered alot of food for just the two of us. hehe. tongue

I am a sucker for Xiao Long Bao. I would search around the area to see if any restaurants offer Xiao Long Bao, and i happened to walk past yummy chopsticks! Their Xiao Long Bao thought very big, it wasnt as nice as compared to Din Tai Feng and Crystal Jade's. The skin was too thick and the meat werent juicy enough. sad

I love steamed custard buns too and would always order whenever i see it as there werent many restaurants that offers it. Yummy chopstick serves some great steamed custard buns. The Leaf-shape makes it so cute to eat. The dough was soft and good, but if only the custard could be more watery / juicy, with the custard oozing out.

The mango shrimp dumplings are worth a try too! something really special which i have never tried it anywhere else before. The dumplings are so huge and juicy! I somehow wish their items can be made in bite size for small-mouth women like me. So difficult to have to open my mouth big just to get a bite. sad

I ordered si-chuan style hot and spicy noodle. It doesnt taste as nice as my friend's jia jiang mian! sad I personally feel that their noodle are not worth trying.

The pan fried gyoza are really good! Very juicy and flavourful meat! Must-try too! I think they offered fried or steamed gyoza too! So you could choose according to your liking.

Though the restaurant doesnt spend much on decorating the restaurant and from the outside, it doesnt look very welcoming, they do serve nice dim sum that is worth a try. Will definitely go back again for their dim sum!

cedele review Smile Jun 30, 2011

Categories : Café

My friend brought me to this place and said they served healthy sandwiches and the bread that they sell is really tasty. The concept is somehow like Subways, as we can choose the choice of our bread. Cedele distinguished from other sandwiches bar as they sells soup, coffees, loaf of breads and have breakfast menu.

I ordered a creamy chicken mushroom soup and a huge rosemary chicken sandwich! I couldn't remembered if i ordered the wholemeal or organic bread. All i could remember was i ordered the one with sunflower seeds! hehe! While my friend ordered a pumpkin soup and a tuna sandwich- couldnt remember which bread she order too. sad

The portion was big and it was really healthy. My hands doesnt feel oily after finishing up my sandwich using my hands to eat. But my soup was too starchy and i feel gelate after finishing half of the big bowl. Definitely a good choice to dine at when you feel health conscious. Would go back to try the wide variety of sandwiches again! (:

Desserts time! Smile Jun 30, 2011

Categories : American | Ice Cream and Gelato

After a day of shopping with friend in town, we decided to pamper ourselves with some desserts from Haagen Daz to satisfy our sweet tooth! tongue

I ordered paradise while my friend ordered a waffle with single scoop of ice cream in belgium chocolate flavour.

The place wasnt crowded with people. I guessed it is because not many people shop at centerpoint and Haagen Daz at centerpoint is located quite inside of the shopping mall.

Service was prompt as there was not many customers. Good for us, customers as we can enjoy the quietness and catch up with friend while enjoying our desserts. Simply heaven! smile

My desserts- Paradise, consists of Dark Chocolate Orange, Belgian Chocolate, Tiramisu and Macadamia Nut ice cream, Raspberry Sorbet and Mango Sorbet with chocolate and strawberry sauce. You can change the flavour of your choice too! I am so eager to taste each and every of the flavours.. hehe.. greedy me. tongue But of course, i shared mine with my friend as i couldnt finish it. I love the waffle biscuits at each level. Crunchy and sweet! The finishing touch makes me so reluctant to eat at first. it was so beautiful!

While my friend's waffle tasted ordinary, I guessed it is the ice cream that we go for isnt it??

Though Haagen Daz ice cream doesnt comes cheap, i figured it is a once-in-a-while indulge to pamper ourselves. Would definitely go back again in future for the quiet ambience to relax! smile

I heard from my colleague that they served good noodle soup and so, i suggested going to crystal jade for our lunch.

I ordered a shrimp dumplings noodle soup and true enough, my colleague was right! The shrimp fillings inside the dumpling was so full and i love how the meat tasted juicy! The noodle tasted chewy too! Soup was clear and not so oily, so every mouth taste refreshing. There are oother variety of noodles too and i feel like trying some others in my next visit. Definitely worth every money spent with the huge and juicy dumplings! smile
