Had the chance to visit Supply & Demand at the Esplanade Bay Mall with OpenRice and Between App (Thanks!) tongue
A modern Peruvian-Italian restaurant that serves really good food at affordable prices.

The cheapest parking nearby should be Marina Mandarin hotel (a short distance away, opposite esplanade) – only $2.20/entry after 5pm! We parked there and took a nice stroll to the Esplanade Bay.

The interior boast of a homely industrial chic style with its brass pipes, hanging incandescent light bulbs, brick walls, steel chairs, cemented seats, and huge warm-colored cushions peppered around to add on a relaxing composition.

Oh, not to forget, Supply & Demand houses a really cool rooftop bar. The open-air bar felt all cosy and romantic, making one yearn for a night long of chilling and gazing at the picturesque ferris-wheel.

The main courses - pastas and pizzas - are generally in the $15-$20 range. Pretty decent for a restaurant situated in such a centralized location and it comes with a splendid view of the MBS/CBD skyline if you’re seated at the alfresco area.

Tasting pasta - $11-$16
Full pasta - $15-$22

9" Pizza - $17
13" Pizza - $21

The menu has over 20 flavours of pizzas, so great news for pizza lovers!
The only down-side is, there aren't photos in the menu. Personally I find it hard to read menus that are purely in words. It would be good to have pictures of the Best-sellers or Chef’s recommendations at least!

Service-wise was fine for that minimal interaction we had with the service crew since it was an event and the OpenRice guys coordinated most of the stuff smile
Now, more on the food!

Fries with a Side of Guilt

The fries were presented in a metal tin container, in tune with the industrial chic style decor of the restaurant.
Though thickly cut, they were evenly-cooked and comes with generous servings of cheese! There is a choice of barbecue sauce at the side if you wish to add more flavour to it, though personally I don't see the need at all smile

Parma Ham with Arugula Salad

I'm not a fan of parma ham or salads, so I didn't exactly try the appetiser :X
Mel likes it quite alot though, citing it is one of the better ones he have tasted.

All'Arrabbiata $15
Classic Italian Fiery Hot Garlic Infused Tomato Sauce

"Arrabbiata" means "angry" in Italian, referring to the chilli peppers in the pasta sauce.
However, being a non-chilli lover, I could accept this dish perfectly! (okay, just slightly cheating with my iced drink lol) Apparently, the sauce has been managed to suit local taste more smile
An unique twist to this common Italian pasta introduced by Supply & Demand is the minced meat added to the sauce.

La Mattina Dopo $17
(The Morning After)

Tomato sauce, Mozarella, Bacon and Mushroom With An Soft Egg Set In The Center

Fans of runny yolks will probably squeal in delight like me tongue
Mel and I shared the soft, runny yolk with a slice of pizza each, almost immediately after the pizza was served (after quick snapshots of cos heh).
The pizza crust was thin, crispy and yet fluffy to taste. Even the portion covered by the soft egg was not soggy at all.
Dough of pizzas are made in-house daily, and baked to order, ensuring fresh pizzas for you anytime!
Ingredients were well-spread over the entire pizza, though being greedy foodie us, we wished there can be more bacon/mushrooms if possible to make the pizza less "plain". But, the slight "plain-ness" could be due to the fact that we slurped up the runny egg too soon instead of spreading it over the pizza! Oops!

Textured Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel $11

This cake was amazing! I finished the bulk of it even though I was so full from trying the pizzas and huge portion of the All'Arrabbiata pasta earlier on.
Like I always tell my friends, salted caramel with chocolate will never go wrong.. tongue
Uneven sizes of chunky chocolate bits at the top, plus some tiny bits in-between the layers of the cake added to the texture - as the name of the dessert suggests - and gives extra bite to it.
The salted caramel was rich and just right, not too overpowering or underwhelmed by the chocolate.

Bridger’s café is hidden at the ground level of Watermark Robertson Quay Condo – right opposite the usual Robertson quay area we normally visit. If you’re familiar with Miramar hotel, Bridger’s café just across the road from there, can be accessed via the bridge.

Do not let the humble, unpretentious setup and vibe fool you ;) This place has rather good food. It is a rather homely café with food tasting like what a mother would prepare for her family - simple and full of love smile The owners (boss and lady boss) would personally do the cooking, ordering and serving all by themselves giving you a chance to interact directly with them. A lovely, cozy café indeed.

Prices are all below $15, which makes it one of the more value-for-money cafés in town.

There are indoor seats, albeit a bit squeezed. If the weather is kind enough, I would recommend having the alfresco seating area where you can dine by the tranquil riverside.

***

Turkish Eggs with Premium Sausages and Mozzarella Cheese $5.80
The Turkish eggs comes with 2 pieces of toast, similar to the Tunisian breakfast where you can dip your toasts into the sizzling pan of runny cheese egg “gravy” or have them with the sausages. This is the non-spicy version though smile

Smoked Salmon Carpaccio Salad $12.50
This salad has a combination of various textures and tastes – soft, runny, crunchy, sweet, salty and tangy. It’s a mini fireworks explosion on your palette if you try everything on the plate at one go smile

Saito San Chix Burger $14.80
The Japanese-inspired chicken burger was a surprise from this small café, as it could easily give other burger house a run for their money. The patty was thick and juicy, and it comes with cheese in the middle of it. The sweet, red tomatoes slices and onions paired perfectly well with the cheesy chicken.

If the weather is too warm, you have a choice of cooling down with the gelatos available. The normal flavours (Vanilla, chocolate and strawberry) are at $3.50 per scoops, while others (Cookies & Cream, Salted caramel and Hazelnut) are at $3.80 per scoop. Additional scoops are at $2.80 each and waffle ice-cream cones are available for $0.70 smile Once again, pretty decent pricing.

I had the salted caramel, which came with peanut toppings. I’m not usually a fan of peanut toppings in my ice-cream, but this time round, it was welcome as the ice-cream had not much a flavor. It was feedback to the owners and they informed that they have heard the same comments from several others too and might be changing suppliers smile This gives me a reason to go back for their new gelatos as well as waffles as they were sold out that evening!

1-for-1 til 20 Dec 2013 :) OK Nov 18, 2013

Categories : Café

I'm sure many (especially KPOP fans) have heard of Full House - Korean drama featuring Rain and Song Hye Gyo, as well as the lovely theme cafe “Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe” previously located at Hotel Rendezvous.
Unfortunately, the latter has closed down.
But...FRET NOT! Fullhouse is now re-opened in Singapore at Clarke Quay with new management and the cafe focuses on its signature dishes more than before, hence, Fullhouse Signature <3

Now, here's the sweet deal for everyone! Fullhouse Signature is offering 1-FOR-1 main course, from today til 10 December 2013! smile
Simply scan the QR code or flash the coupon below before ordering.

http://oyhz.blogspot.sg/2013/11/fullhouse-signature-singapore-clarke.html

Without much further ado, let's take a look at the lovely theme restaurant. The management team has spent months sourcing for suitable decor and even having them custom-made overseas for the restaurant to ensure that every corner is perfect!

Crunchy Cheese Sticks $11

Deep fried cheese sticks coated with crispy breadcrumbs

This was one of my favourite dish out of so many even though it's simply mozzarella cheese coated with bread crumbs, I find the taste so divine~~ T.T

Fullhouse Ravioli $25

Special creamy ravioli stuffed with minced prawns, squids and spinach

The presentation of the ravioli once again surprised us smile Having an aesthetically-pleasing dish already makes customers 50% satisfied.
However, having tried authentic yummy ravioli in Italy personally, this dish was a little far from expectations.
The pasta itself could been a little thinner, either that or more of the fillings (and more cream please, yes!).
Perhaps each petal of ravioli could be made smaller, more bite-sized, for ladies to have an easier time to enjoy the food smile

Scallop Aglio Spagehetti $22
Smooth virgin olive oil with a touch of chili padi and garlic served with sauteed whole scallops

Molten Chocolate Cake $9

Chocolate cake filled with lava like smooth cocoa

We were slightly disappointed when there weren't any chocolate lava oozing out as described by the title of the dish :/

But right upon trying the cake, all my disappointments were gone!
The (not-so-molten) chocolate in the cake were nonetheless soft and slightly chewy, making the dessert so satisfying.
The strawberries were surprisingly sweet (not the usual sour ones we have) too!

Snow White on Fire
One of their signature cocktail, with a presentation style similar to flaming lamborgini, Snow White on Fire.

The cocktail has citrus, honey and (plum) many other ingredient in it which makes it not only exciting to watch, but super delicious too! To me, it tasted like refreshing honey plum and I had to control myself not to have too much of it! :X Otherwise I'd be drunk pretty soon!

As mentioned, Fullhouse Signature is offering 1-FOR-1 main course, from today til 10 December 2013! smile

Great ribs! Smile Jan 09, 2013

The ribs are GOOD.
Click here for photos of the food: http://oyhz.blogspot.sg/2013/01/morganfields-singapore-star-vista.html

Apparently, the waiters/waitresses aren't familiar with their menu & don't have any much common sense at all.
But if you can look past it (like we did), it can be highly entertaining and hence making it a hilarious evening for us.
As a 'compensation' though, the chef did come out and chatted slightly with us, asking for feedback on the food etc.
So, do not have too high an expectation when dining there and you'll enjoy it smile
Especially since the food is great!
