Milk pudding Smile Sep 25, 2013

I think Paris Baguette is very famous for their milk pudding. They are slightly watery and soft, but they can be a little pricey though. It's $4 - $4.50 per bottle and as you can see from the photo, it's quite small a size! They now have new flavours, like raspberry so you should give it a try! They also sell many other pastries and bread but overall quite pricey.

Herbal soup Smile Sep 25, 2013

The special thing about their bak kut teh is their herbal soup. The soup are also simmered over fiery charcoals to give that traditional taste to it.
The herbal soup is really thick and authentic, giving the herbal taste without any peppery sensation. They are pretty generous with their meat too. Most importantly, there's always a crowd but luckily you dont have to queue because the would serve it to you!

New menu!  Smile Sep 25, 2013

New on the menu is the Baked Asari Cheese Pasta S$11.
Although pasta reminds me of italian food, I'm quite curious how Japanese would prepare the dish.
Ended up, it was quite a pleasant surprise. This might sound silly but I did a count of the clams given, and it totals up to about 9? The hot plate serving the pasta is very very shallow, so the food portion is good for ladies and might not be enough for men.

I ordered the Kani Mentai Mayo Roll S$8, and would like to seek if its comparable to the Shiok Maki from Koh Grill. Well, although it isn't as satisfying as Shiok maki, simply because the mental covering the maki was not excessive enough. Nonetheless, it's priced at half the price of Shiok Maki, so I think it's quite reasonable. As for the taste, it's good enough to satisfy me. I can feel that all ingredients made are quite fresh!

Nice taiwanese food! Smile Sep 25, 2013

Lu Rou Fan 卤肉饭 $3.20
I must say I was very much bought over by this bowl of braised pork rice! It tasted almost like the one we find in Taiwan. The sauce and the meat are very well mixed together and drizzled over fresh fragrant white rice. There's also salty vegetables to top up an additional taste to the rice.

Taiwan Mian Xian (Mee Sua) $3.80
The Mee Sua here do not use fresh oysters but pig intestines. I extremely love this bowl of mee sue because the noddles are so velvety smooth and the soup wasn't too gluey.

Astons express!  Smile Sep 25, 2013

Astons has always been my favorite, especially when Astons Express has made things so much more convenient. I can eat it anytime since it's in one of the coffeeshop near my house!
The usual chickens used are the same, just that they add different sauce to it. Chargrill chicken costs only S$7.90 and it comes with two sides. For me, I chose baked potato (comes with a small piece of margarine) and coleslaw. It's not your fantastic western food, but it's decent and affordable.
