Late Lunch Cry Mar 17, 2013

Categories : Taiwanese

Went down to The Star Vista with a friend and was looking for somewhere to eat. Came across this place and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Beef Noodles while my friend ordered the Braised Pork Rice. We both added an appetizer of the day and a fruity tea drink set to our orders. The appetizer was mini sausages and some beancurd. The sausages were really hard and tasted like they had been kept in the fridge for a long time. The green milk tea we got was much too sweet. The beef noodle had an overpowering smell and the beef was not handled properly.

Besides the food being dissatisfying, the service was not fantastic either. We were barely done with our food and the waitress kept hovering near our table and wanted to clear the dishes.

Dinner Cry Feb 26, 2013

Categories : Korean | Food Court

The food court was pretty crowded when I went for dinner, so it was a little hard to get seats.
BBQ Chicken

BBQ Chicken

I ordered the BBQ Chicken set, which came with the hotplate chicken, rice and a bowl of soup. At first glance, the chicken didn't look promising, due to the colour. It proved to be disappointing as well. First of all, the chicken was not spicy enough. It tasted like regular chicken, and not a Korean dish.

Disappointment Cry Jan 30, 2013

The place is pretty inconvenient, and we had to take a taxi to get to the restaurant. I found the walls pretty interesting: bricks stacked up in different orientations.

Ended up ordering pork banh mi, which is what is seen in the photos below. To be honest, when it was served, my first thought was "That's a lot of grass."

The food wasn't fantastic, in fact it was disappointing, taking into regard the price paid. Besides that, the place was really noisy and I could not hear what the rest of my friends were saying. So in terms of the environment, I would say it's a bad place to dine, unless you don't mind the noise.

The service was average.

Lunch Cry Jan 30, 2013

Tried the dao xiao mian over at Vivo City's Food Republic and it was pretty good so I decided to try the dao xiao mian here, just to see if it matches the standard. However, to my disappointment, the noodles were a far cry from what I had tried before.

I found that the soup was too diluted and failed to retain the full taste. Furthermore the noodles were not very well "cut" and was not springy at all. The ribs were average.

Worst Fishball Noodles Ever Cry Dec 25, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Teochew | Hawker Centre | Noodles

I have eaten fishball noodles from the same franchise elsewhere before and it was not bad so I decided to try this outlet at AMK for lunch. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Undoubtedly the worst fishball noodles I have ever eaten.

I asked for chilli but didn't taste anything, the noodles were bland and had the "raw taste" of noodles. The fishballs were also too hard. Ended up not finishing the noodles.
