Rosti with Chicken Sausages Smile Feb 26, 2013

This Ambush outlet is located in the basement of Takashimaya.
Rosti with Chicken Sausages

Rosti with Chicken Sausages

Ordered the rosti with chicken sausage. As can be seen from the photo, a generous portion of sausages was served. In comparison, the rosti was insufficient. You basically finish the rosti and there would still be sausages left. The sausages oozed with cheese when cut and goes well with the sausage.

Lunch Smile Feb 26, 2013

Went over for lunch and wanted to have something light so I ordered the sliced fish bee hoon.

The portion was quite generous, and the fish was fresh. I like how the soup is light and does not taste MSG-ish. It also didn't make me feel very thirsty after the meal, like how certain stalls' soups do.

Service was quick and the staff were friendly. However, I found the place slightly cramped.

Dinner Smile Feb 26, 2013

I can't remember the name of this dish. Ordered this because we saw that a lot of people were ordering it and figured it warranted a try. I like how it's spicy and sour, which makes it appetising. It goes very nicely with the rice and the portion was just nice.

There might be a bit of a wait during dinner time as the food court gets pretty crowded and there would be a queue at this stall.

Dinner Cry Feb 26, 2013

The food court was pretty crowded when I went for dinner, so it was a little hard to get seats.
BBQ Chicken

BBQ Chicken

I ordered the BBQ Chicken set, which came with the hotplate chicken, rice and a bowl of soup. At first glance, the chicken didn't look promising, due to the colour. It proved to be disappointing as well. First of all, the chicken was not spicy enough. It tasted like regular chicken, and not a Korean dish.

Spending per head: Approximately $6

The place is supposedly famous for it's hokkien mee but I'm not a fan of it so I decided to try the char kway teow (without cockles since I dont't eat them). After ordering, I had to wait for 10-15 minutes for the char kway teow because they cook it in batches.

I found the char kway teow a tad too oily, and the chilli wasn't spicy enough. The portion was just nice for me, since it was greasy and I would not have been able to finish had it been a larger portion.

Spending per head: Approximately $5
