Not to be exaggerating but its kinda true based on my factual experience that I'm actually queuing up for Ice Cream on a Sunday Morning. Coming from the West Side of Singapore, I'm rather amazed by how Creamier's fans diligently waited for the doors to be opened while the crews were still preparing the necessaries with quarter of the shop shutters still unopened. For the moment, I could not recall that we have such scenario in Jurong.

It was actually an impromptu meetup with my friend as we were in Toa Payoh area and she suggested Creamier as our meeting point. Just imagine someone recommended this place and have ice cream for breakfast, it so out of the usual lifestyle but I believe it was so good that it worth to do a little tweak in the lifestyle.

Queues swarmed into the restaurant immediately as their shutters were fully drawn up and orders were made in an orderly manner. No doubt the tables were abit narrow and "kid-sized", I would say it was intelligently catered in efficient use of the space.

It was all about waiting for Creamier and we were given a Table Tracker to alert us if our orders were ready. As tables were rather limited in Creamier, patrons were tend to wait outside the shop in front of the playgrounds where affixed public tables are. However patrons are reminded to stay within the vicinity in order to be alerted as the tracker will only vibrate in silent mode.

Belgian Waffles are the must try! Waffles were good, crispy at the exterior with buttery fragrance and they tasted, eggy with sweetness. Presentation is definitely inviting with 2 pieces of Waffles stacked together sprinkled with Icing Sugar and Chocolate syrup as its base.

Thai Milk Tea was good but lacking in the intensity in flavour of what Thai's Tea supposed to be. Earl Grey Lavendar was one of the hits too! Simply love the decent scent of the Lavendar that also brings out the Earl Grey Essence in such lucious ice cream.

Sea Salt Gula Melaka was my favourite too. Besides being dense & silky like the rest, though Gula Melaka suppose to has a strong taste, I would say its combination was a perfect marriage and with sweetness not too overwhelming. Recommended!

Guten Tag! The way of saying good day in German. Visiting Stuttgart Blackforest Boutique Cafe has always been in the back of our mind. With years working in a German firm, I learn that German Cuisine were not just about beer and pork knuckles though it was being portray in such way.

Having visited Germany a year or two back, Stuttgart is one of the place I heard and still yet to be checked on my visited list. All I heard was their reputable black forest and cuckoo clock factory. S-Cafe was decked out with woods, giving a quaint environment. There were even large green pine trees to mimic the forest environment or even those beer gardens in Germany. Atmosphere was generally interesting and definitely relaxing. For those who love nature, this might be a good choice for you.

How can the trip to a German Cafe be completed without a sip of their beer? Food was all washed down by the bottle of Engel Radler.

While the partner is in need of some caffine to perk himself up with a cup of Iced Cappucino. It came as a little surprise as cookies were given and syrup was added separately.

A basket of bread and magarine spread was compliments from the cafe.

Braised Beef Short Ribs was introduced by one of the server and that was not from the menu. I guess that dish was available on certain days only. Braised Beef was cooked to its tenderness which allowed meat to be easily removed from the bone and was supported by a bed of mashed potatoes and 2 slices of vegetables. It was crunchy and kind of reduce the smell of the beef Short Ribs. I was told that those vegetables were called watermelon carrot when I asked about them.

The more than 100g large slice of Signature Black Forest Cake did not disappoint. It was rich and creamy but not cloying in its chocolate sponge and kirsch soaked cherries. Every layer was well define, given a good texture of what a Black Forest Cake was supposed to be. It's the best so far that I had ever eaten in Singapore.

Llao Llao Yoghurt Smile Dec 16, 2014

Categories : Frozen Yogurt

Llao Llao Yoghurt which is pronnouce as "Yao Yao" as finally hit the shores of Singapore. Started in 2009 and considering the leader in the frozen yoghurt market, there are already more than 70 outlets in Europe and counting.

Since its opening, Llao Llao Yoghurt is always seem to have a long queues no matter which outlet they are at. Being a fan of Yoghurt, the curiosity in me has make me wonder how are their standards if were to compared with local Yami Yoghurt and other Yoghurt outlets.

Having Llao Llao Yoghurt is quite interesting with many combinations such as its sauce and choice of fruits, if you are game for something more cool and soothing, you can try out their smoothies too.

With its wide range of fruits and unique sauces, patrons are simply spoilt for choices.

Having the Sanum at $6.50, we were given a choice to have 3 fruits to go with crunch, a choice of sauce and the frozen yoghurt that sits on top of everything.

The original Yoghurt was very creamy and portion was generous. The milky addition to the ice cool yoghurt is very soothing when consumed. While the chocolate fudge with a little coating on the Vanilla color Yoghurt.

Green spoon that was being provided are very long, suitable for the dept of the cup. Fruits portion for us were rock melon, strawberry and blueberries.

As a Yoghurt lover, I think that the portion is quite big and can be shared among some friends. Comparing to other Yoghurt I had, firstly portion did not go by weight which is quite comfortable to me and their varieties available can beat others hands down.

After seeing some of the renovations and its outlets, in the West I think I will most likely be addicted to such stuff!

Located in a historic landmark in Singapore, Clifford Restaurant is surrounded with a relaxing environment along the Marina Bay. By words of mouths we learn of this restaurant for its fantastic ambiance and its delicious food.

Charmed by its 10 metres high ceiling and the elegance of the entire environment, overlooking the inspiring water at the bay, it had already won my heart over. To add on, their vintage furnishings with its solid herringbone oak flooring made the environment gorgeous. Though it may seem a little quaint but definitely a charming place presenting a homely feel to all diners, a great spot for romance as well as business.

Dining with Sparkling water Badoit (750ml) - $13

Ordered some sparkling water to quench our thirst and to prepare for the incoming meals ordered, Clifford Restaurant had lend their welcomes with a plate of complementary breads (baguette and multigrains buns), served warm with chilled duck rillette and butter.

The start of our Gastronomic indulgence!

Kicked start with a bowl of awesome french onion soup! Authentic and packed full of the French's Traditional Onion Soup! Rich, filled with caramelized onions and melted gruyere cheese as well as croutons. Just cant help falling in love with the softened crouton with those sticky cheese.

Served with Truffle Ravioli, Porcini Mushroom Soup was stunning in its foamy parmesan with mascarpone cheese. Tasted light of mushroom and was very smooth, a total addiction!

220g of grilled Angus beef Entrecote (premium cut on beef) with Beurre Maitre D'Hotel (parsley butter) and a side of Fries infused with the great truffle scent.

Yummy!

3 Hours Home made Duck confit is one of Clifford's signature dishes. Served with a dollop of puree black garlic with and sides like sauteed broad beans, filed greens and truffle potato mousseline. Duck confit was cooked to perfection while potato mousseline was smooth and creamy.

We had a long wait before this signature apple tart tartin appears before us (I guess they baked it from the scratch). Tart was cut into smaller pieces on the pan and served upside down. The friendly server than placed one piece of it onto our plates which were already adorn with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and dash of caramel on the plate.

A cup of long black to round up the meal with the desserts and Clifford Restaurant threw in some surprises to us with a plate of petit four (In French, meaning "Small Oven") consisting of Kueh Lapis. Macarons and White Chocolates. Sweetness from petit four complimented the aromatic cup of long black.

Considering its price tag, perhaps many would have turn off after looking at its menu. However, I will like to emphasize that for the excellent ambiance, food quality and personalized service, its all worth the money spend for a memorable session here in Clifford.

Tan Hock Seng Smile Dec 10, 2014

More yummy photos at www.umakemehungry.com

I have never heard of the place until my pal showed me yesterday. Tan Hock Seng is really a gem hidden along Pekin Street selling traditional chinese pastries.
Tan Hock Seng

Tan Hock Seng

Perhaps one of the oldest shop there, Tan Hock Seng has already over 70 years of history yet still maintaining its old school style of shop interior and old-fashioned way of arranging goods, reusing its carton boxes as storage boxes with hand written signage indicating the items.

They have a variety of pastries like Beh Teh Sor, Tau Sar Piah, green bean cake, white cake and many other Hokkien pastries that I had never come across. I'm amazed. Perhaps such confectioneries are at risk of extinction in the next generation if such legacy is not being pass on to the younger generations.

One of the interesting finds I saw was its "老妈糕 Lao Ma Gao". In a box of 4, doughy texture with flour coating, it somehow gave a very familiar fragrance which is too hard for us to recall its resemblance.

Opted for its salty Tau Sar Piah over the sweet ones in looking for some traditional taste. Instead of having them packed in the commercialized box, they had it packed in translucent SKP plastic bag. Everything was so down to earth and straight froward, just like the good old times. Its flaky layered of crusts in its butter fragrance with salty Tau Sar paste cradled in its core was simply divine.

I was pretty happy to find little piglets too! I never had thought I would have seen them in such season as they only come out in the market during Mid-Autumn Festival.

While white rice cake are most common items on the shelves or can be found at a small corner of super mart. A sweet and salty combination from the traditional rice cakes.

Truly love this nostalgic place! Recommended!
