This is a very popular Japanses snack originally made from diced octopus pieces covered by savoury pancake skin with lots of mayonnaise sauce inside. To cater to more people who do not take octopus, they also have other ingredients inside which are ham, prawn, chili tuna, etc. One thing they should improve is their heater. Would prefer that they made the tako balls on the spot cause it does made a difference between eating a hot one and a not so hot one. They are also not as generous in their fillings. For the ham one, it's only one small square piece of ham inside. I can't really taste the ham at all.

Big Plate of Hokkien prawn noodle OK Sep 18, 2011

Categories : Food Court | Noodles

The skill of cooking a really delicious plate of Hokkien Mee is diminishing in Singapore as few younger generations would want to pick up this skill. I had a craving of some really nice Hokkien Mee so I decided to try out what this stall can offers me.

Looks yummy but upon eating it, I was quite disappointed. The dish has too much gravy and yet the noodle is not soft enough. The noodle is quite difficult to chew. I find it troublesome to have to de-shell the prawns myself too. The taste of the chili is already mix up with some of the gravy which make it taste like curry.

Tuna Puff and Special Pie Promo OK Sep 11, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bakery | Halal

Bought a Tuna Puff and Special Pie using the National Day Parade coupon home for snacks. Their standard of the tuna puff and special pie seems to have dropped. The fillings for the special pie is now so little that I can only taste 1-2 chunks of the chicken meat. More of the fillings were just the mashed potatoes, carrots and onions. The flaky pastry skin is cold and stick to the aluminium foil which makes it hard to remove. The tuna fillings inside the tuna puff is too dry. I think they should add a bit of mayonnaise to improve the flavour.

Four Season Durian Pancakes OK Sep 05, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes | Halal

I remember I first tried Four Season's Durian Pancake was a few years back at one of it's first few outlet at Takashimaya basement. That time, it was always long queue there and one can really smell the durian far, far away. Now as they opened more stalls at the neighbourhood, the standard sort of drop. I bought a box of 5 durian pancakes home. True, it was made on the spot but when I bring home which is about 10 minutes later, the skin is already cold. The durian fillings is not that tasty but I can understand that as it all depands on which type of durians they used. At this price, and with such generous serving, I can't expect them to use D24 durians also.

Dry Shredded Chicken Noodle OK Aug 25, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

Located at the last row of the market, business seems to be brisk for this stall. The uncle was very helpful to ask me to get a seat first and he will serve the food to me.

For $2.50, it's a big plate of noodle with decent serving of the shredded chicken, mushroom and vegetable on top. Noodle is springy and the sauce is nice. The chili sauce makes it a bit oily though.
