Saw the commercial on TV that Burger King has just launched a new set of bite-sized burgers that especially targeted for the ladies. Decided to try it out for my dinner. The interior of the Burger King here is of a Singapore theme with the famous Singapore icon all over the wall like the Merlion, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore flyers, etc. In my opinion, I think it would be more appropriate if this outlet is in Changi Airport.

It's like two mini burger in one set and I thought I can order two different flavours for one set so I ordered a Rodeo Beef burger and a Spicy Chicken Burger. However, they ended up giving me two different sets. First mistake I made. After that, I realised that my Spicy Chicken Burger became the Grilled Onion Beef Burger. Since I have already taken a bite, I didn't go and change it.

The Rodeo Beef burger is a combination of onion rings with American cheese and a flame grilled beef patty in their special BBQ sauce and cheese. The bite size really makes a difference as it's easier to hold in hand and not so messy. With one bite, I can taste my favourite onion rings, bun, cheese, beef.

As for the Grilled onion beef burger. It's a mixture of onions, cheese, mayonnaise and the flame grilled patty in special BBQ sauce too. Not much difference from the Rodeo Beef Burger except this onion is not fried to become onion rings.

Anyway, thumbs up to Burger King for coming up this special idea. I think alot of ladies would prefer eating this burger too.

Dry duck noodle with soup OK Apr 29, 2011

Categories : Hawker Centre

My dinner tonight is this bowl of dry duck noodle with a bowl of soup. I added an egg that cost $0.50. This dish still consider a pass but I find the duck meat too little. I am left with a whole chunk of noodle with nothing to mix with except the egg and soup as I have finish all the duck meat already. I guess it would be better if they added some slice of fishcake in too. The soup looks plain but is quite tasty. Service wise, nothing much to comment as it's a self service stall.

I had my dinner with my colleague here and I was the only one who ordered from this stall.

Tried their fried rice and added one dish which is the chili prawns, when the cashier was typing out the receipt, I was shocked! The bill comes to $7.80. Before I was ordering, I used my iPhone to take photo of the stall. Perhaps, the guy who took my order saw it, he even told me that the long beans was free for me.

Not only is it expansive, the food is not that nice either, definitely not worth my $7.80. The soup wasn't hot but was warm and turns completely cold when I drink it after I finish my rice. The plate of fried rice was too big a potion to finish. Seems like they are clearing the leftovers. The prawns was not fresh and too spicy. Only the long bean is nice.

When I complained to my colleagues, they told me that I ordered the wrong dish and I should try their pork chop, more famous. So, I can't say that they are not good cause maybe I really ordered the wrong dish.

I am quite disappointed with the food here. I nearly wanted to give it a negative feedback but on account of their side dish which is the minced meat tofu and their red milk bubble tea which I might go back and buy again so I give it a ok, average rating.

I remember it was having a promotion of 1-for-1 after 9pm so we went to try it out. My curry pork cutlet rice is terrible. The pork has got a little sourish taste and it's so difficult to chew. Maybe, it's been there since morning.

Luckily, their minced meat tofu is exceptionally yummy. Also, must try their hot red milk bubble tea. We are so used to drinking icy cold bubble tea, but their hot bubble tea is a thumbs up from me.

Remember their advertisment? Jia Xiang Jia Xiang Jia Xiang Mian Mian Mian!

My friend and I was just standing outside looking at the menu when the staff invited us in with her warm smile. This is the one place with the least crowds and no queue at all. We ordered their mixed seafood soup and I swear never to order this again. The prawn is not fresh and the soup is too salty.

Also ordered their abalone with lettuce. This is quite okay. The sauce is good enough to cover the taste.
