Late Night Supper 1-for-1 Smile Aug 28, 2011

While waiting for the president elections result to be announced, had Pepper Chicken McGrill to satisfy my hungry stomach. Just nice there's another promotion going on.

With a whole chicken thigh meat that is grilled to tender perfection and marinated with a special black pepper sauce that is bound to bring fire to one's belly. One bite into the burger and I can feel my mouth turning a bit numb from the black pepper and onions. Thus, I removed the sauce and resume eating.

My conclusion is that the "Fire in your belly?" statement is very true for this burger. Even after removing the sauce, I can still feel my stomach burning inside. Eat it only if you like black pepper, otherwise I think the normal one would be a better choice.

Great! 1-for-1

Their Menu

Fish & Co at the Glass House brings back many fond memories of the past. I remembered once I celebrated my birthday here with a group of friends and my friend even got the live band to sing a birthday song for me and another friend whose birthday is just one day after mine. So it was a great feeling to be back here again.

Service wise is excellent. There were ample waiters and waitress walking about and we were even given a 8 Days Magazine while waiting for the food to be served. The guy who served us was friendly and I liked his starting short intro of saying his name and that he would be our waiter for the day. Friendly. We also get to know that Fish & Co is now HALAL CERTIFIED (thus no more vodka) so it would be easier for our Malay friends to join in.
Swordfish Collar

Swordfish Collar

We ordered a Swordfish Collar with rice and coleslaw as side dishes. This fish is deep fried to a nice golden brown colour and is big and chunky. It was my first time trying this so I thought the whole piece is all meat but actually the bone is what makes the fish looks so big. There's only quite little flesh. Some part do have the strong fishy taste so have to eat with the sauce.

Their hot Fudge Chocolate cake with ice cream is just heavenly and a must have after a fishy meal. Warm chocolate with cold vanilla ice cream. What a great combination. It brings a sweet ending to this meal.

The live band played alot of my favourite song. As it was raining outside, we also took shelter here listening to the nice songs.

National Day Good Feast Smile Aug 09, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Fast Food | Halal

Used the voucher found inside the NDP voucher booklet for this two meals. Usual price is S$15.65. With the voucher, we get $4 off.

I just love their fries. It has a strong potato taste as compared to the rest of the Fast Food Restaurant. Another plus point is that they didn't add too much salt unlike one particular Fast Food Restaurant when I eat their fries, I have to hit the fries to remove the excess salt. Their fried fish is delicious too. I always enjoyed eating the extra bites and pieces of the flour crust that is so crispy.

As for the grilled cajun chicken, it's the first time I tried it and it's nice too. Have to eat it together with the rice or else the rice is actually quite tasteless.

Delicious Fresh Fruit Tarts Smile Aug 07, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Desserts and Cakes

Tucked behind Ajisen is Fruit Paradise which is the gem of nicely decorated fresh fruit tarts! My first impression of Fruit Paradise is that they only sell fruit tarts and so I was shocked my friends suggested meeting here for dinner. Yes, I always wanted to try their fruit tarts but I have never stepped into this restaurant before today and I wondered if fruit tarts for dinner will be enough?

Luckily, my friends told me they also served omu rice. So I asked them to help me order a fried prawn omu rice as I made my way there. When I reached, the food was still in process and not ready yet. Waited quite long before the food was served. The fried prawn omu rice is really tasty with their mushroom tomato sauce. It also falls under the chef recommendation category. A perfect combination with a truly special taste for the omelette. There are other sauces to choose from too, like Demiglace sauce, mushroom cream sauce, curry sauce, etc. The fried prawn is fresh and the rice used is not just plain white rice.

For dessert, we ordered two fruit tarts that cost $7.80 each. One is the mango and strawberry fruit tart with custard base. The mangoes and strawberries are sweet like honey and not sour at all. Very delicious.

For this mixed fruit tart, we got to try 9 different variety of fresh fruits on a creamy custart mousse! No wonder it's the No 1 Bestseller in the menu. There's blueberries, banana, kiwi, strawberry, mango, green apple, red apple, etc. It makes sinful dessert looks healthy too.

Really enjoyed dining here with great food and fruit tarts!

New Favourite Bubble Tea Smile Aug 06, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese | Juices

There's definitely room for another bubble tea player as the craze for bubble tea in Singapore is still going strong. Taiwanese imported Bubble Orange which sells premium tea so far only have one store at City Vibe Shopping Mall.

While my friend and I was having a hard time choosing which tea to order, the guy tending the stall immediately gave us a small cup of their Tiramisu milk tea with pudding to try. It was nice and I ordered that. I also add on pearls. With a delicious custard pudding nestled at the bottom and pearls, this drink is currently listed as my favorite drink now. However, I find the size of their pearls a bit smaller and not as chewy as their competitors.

One weird drink that caught my eyes is their Heineken Green Tea. It's spiked with Heineken beer according to them. Well, perhaps this could attracts some uncles to buy it.
