Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre | Chinese Soup | Claypot Rice

New Lucky Claypot RIce is best known for their tasty claypot rice that is cooked using gas at first before transferring to the claypot to be cooked using the charcoal fire. This is the place I always recommend to my friends whenever they come to Clementi. We all know it's not easy to find hawker still using charcoal to cook anymore. During peak period, expect to wait a good 40 minutes for their claypot rice. Usually, if I'm eating with my parents like today, I would give them a call to order first and went down to find seat later. This helps to save a lot of time waiting there.

The rice has such a nice aroma and we have the freedom to add in the desired amount of sesame oil and dark soy sauce as the oil and dark soy sauce are provided to us before the rice arrived. At the bottom of the claypot would be some brunt rice for those who liked it crispy but it's rather unhealthy to eat those brunt rice. The chicken, and Chinese sausage are both tender and juicy. There's also salted fish added inside to add some flavours. We also ordered addition of Xiao Bai Cai and Black Chicken soup for a healthier choice.

A note to add, this stall would be relocating to Holland Drive in September. It also meant that next time I would have one less food to recommend when my friends came over my area.

I was around Far East Square with my boyfriend and started to ask my friends who worked nearby for some recommendation on the food to eat here. Mass chatted with them and both of them at the same time recommended us to try out this Indo Restaurant.

We were served first the $1 Keropok that comes with a plate of spicy chili. Next we asked for our dessert - Avocado ($4.80) to be served. The avocado is heavenly! It's sweet and thick avocado taste makes you want to order another cup.

Our main dishes consist of Balachan Kangkong, Ayam Bali, Ayam Goreng Kalasam and rice that is wrapped in pandan leaf. shaped like a ketupat. For the rice, we were charged for the first two serving but subsequently, it's unlimited, so you can order a second serving of the rice for free. Great and highly recommended.

Bubble tea craving Smile Jul 25, 2011

Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

It's been a while since the returned of bubble tea, the craze has slightly reduced but nevertheless, a steady stream of crowds can still be seen queuing for this also very famous gong cha.

People always like to compare Gong Cha with Koi, but in my opinion, both have their own uniqueness. Under the hot blazing sun, it's truly refreshing to have a cup of this icy cold Lemon Roast Melon Tea with Pearl Jelly. The lemon and melon combination is surprisingly well matched. Not too sour and not too sweet and with my favourite chewy pearls, I feel charged up once again. smile

Delicious Mutton Briyani Smile Jul 23, 2011

The first fragrance when one step into Zam Zam is their nice prata smell. Service was fast as it was very crowded during lunch time and they have to quickly clear the seats so that more people can enter.

Their Mutton Briyani is so nice that it will make you want to go back and eat again. The mutton is tender and the rice is flavourful. Shall try their murtabak during the next visit.

Chill out at the outdoor seat Smile Jul 19, 2011

Have a $5 voucher that can only be redeem at this Heeren outlet and since we are in the vicinity, we decided to utilize the voucher before it expires.

The indoor sofa seats were all fully taken up. Luckily, there's more seats outdoor. Minus the air-con, the seats outdoor still looks bright and comfortable enough. We picked a big table meant for 4 person and can overlook the street of Somerset.

Went to order our meal. Had Meatloaf beef pie, chicken florentine artichoke bake (served warm), chutney chicken & pistachio and Ice strawberry twist.

The chutney chicken & pistachio is simply delicious. A little celery, grapes and some mayo sauce was added into this salad. Their Meatloaf beef pie is very tasty too. Together with the brain freeze strawberry twist, we had a great high tea and enjoying the afternoon breeze.
